  • Episode 006: Michael Gerber, A Systems Approach To Business And Life
In this episode Michael talk about the importance of building a systems approach to business and life.
A system is really a process over time.  You can go back and see what I mean by that.
A system is a way of producing a result.  It is a process over time called step one, step two, step three, step for, etc. and etc.  Obviously, however, simply having a process over time is insufficient without standards.
Standards tell you exactly how you’ll know you’ve successfully implemented and completed step one, two, three, four and so forth.
The standards themselves are insufficient unless you have an objective.  The objective is another way it could be called the outcome produced by system.

  • Episode 004: Peter Verlezza, Communicating To Your Market
In this episode Peter talks about the importance of communicating to your audience in ways that are “appropriate” to them.
To this point, we’ve identified who is your target market. We’ve also gone out and started to position ourselves as experts in our field. Now that we’re seen as experts, well, we’re done, right? Nope. Now we’ve got to go out and communicate that to the people who are ready and willing to do business with us.
This is probably the most important piece, and it speaks to this whole appropriate touching thing we’ve been discussing. One of the reasons we’ve spent so much time in identifying our audience is to be able to effectively communicate and market to them. We discussed how becoming the expert and creating a media or marketing program that speaks to your potential and current clients is extremely important. That’s how you’ll get your message across.

  • Episode 003: Peter Verlezza, Becoming The Expert In Your Market
In this episode Peter talks about what it means to become the expert in your market. In order to succeed in business, you must understand that, first and foremost, you are in the people business. Now that you are aware of that fact, you will, obviously, want to get people to know you, to like you, and to trust you. In all honesty, the end result is that you want to become “the go-to guy, gal or person.”
You want to become the trusted resource; the trusted expert who people seek out for advice, for information, and for resources.
Why is it important to become the guy, gal or person? Simple. It is the one thing that cannot be commoditized. Relationships are a very difficult thing to have as a black and white quantifier or qualifier. Relationships are much deeper than that. They are grayer. They give you more latitude. A relationship with a client affords you the opportunity for a conversation.

  • Episode 002: Peter Verlezza, Defining Success and Your Market
In this episode Peter talks about what it means to identify your target market. This is essential, whether you are an IT support company, landscape architect,  pediatrician, or restaurateur. Products and services are commodities; the means are your clients or customers. Success has little to do with the commodities, and everything to do with the means. The most important thing to do before any of that can be accomplished, however, is to know your market. Both your current clients and those prospects or potential clients that you may want to target. If you want to “own” your space you need to know your market.

  • Episode 001: Peter Verlezza, TPIAW Intro
Peter Verlezza has, for the past 27 years, created and built technology solutions that make sense for medical practices, businesses and non-profit organizations.
Back in 2006, Peter founded SMB Networks, a company specializing in the management of technology for the medical profession. Its services include IT support, voice over IP, mobile apps, managed social media, and search engine optimization. He’s designed and developed Hassle Free HIPAA, a complete, done-for-you HIPAA compliance program for covered entities and business associates.
His unique way of approaching challenges comes from a belief that it all starts with people. In his formative years, Peter worked at the deli and catering business owned by his family. This experience instilled in him the importance of exemplary customer service. He manages each situation with the question, “Is this in the best interest of my client?” He approaches life with a sense of humor, charisma, and a genuine care for others. While his deli days may be long gone, his overall interest in each client still flourishes.
He is the author of three books, “Hassle Free IT MD,” and two Amazon best-selling books, “The Tech Multiplier,” and “The Business Owners Essential Guide to IT and All Things Digital.”
This series is about dealing with people from every walk of life. You will hear from the best and brightest. The simple question will be “what does touching people in appropriate ways mean is your business or profession? We can all learn to deal with people in a more appropriate way. I hope you enjoy the series.
