It is insulting to banana republics when we compare them to our nation’s use of the courts to silence and stop Donald Trump.  Banana republics of yore had a shame about it—they did their cloak and dagger work in the dark, as quietly as possible. They didn’t parade and strut the way our judges and prosecutors do as they indict and try Donald Trump at federal and local levels.

No—What we are seeing in the lawfare against Donald Trump to obtain what cannot be won at the ballot box, namely: his defeat—is Putinism. Vladimir Putin struts and parades his use of the apparatuses of government to silence and retribute against his political foes. He has no shame about it. He sees the publicity of it as a tool and message: “Come against me politically—face state-sanctioned punishment.”

Those who denounce Putin, wake up: the rapidity of it all is different here—the ends, and increasingly, the means, are not.

Totalitarian regimes and dictators know how to deal with problems. They disappear. And when it comes to human beings, that often means they disappear by murder.

In this case, of course, we're talking about Alexei Navalny who died Friday in a Russian penal colony in or near Siberia. He died just a day after appearing to be extremely healthy in a video appearance related to his legal situation.

Navalny was a part of a generation that was horribly offended by the corruption that is reflected in the Russian government.  He named things for what they were. He exposed them. And he sought to organize opposition. He believed that the formation of opposition parties could eventually lead to the overthrow of Russia’s corrupt regime. But predictably, and given the history of Russia following a very familiar pattern, the regime struck back.

Will this in time strengthen or weaken the Russian regime? Well, we’ll be watching them closely.

When Biden took office the basket of goods included in CPI cost $262. Today, that same basket costs $309. That’s a 19% increase. Things cost almost a fifth more than they did when Trump left office. Nothing exhibits to ordinary Americans the failure of economic policy more than inflation. We see it when we shop for groceries, that relentless creep upwards in prices from month to month. We see it at the gas station when filling up our tanks empties out our wallets. 

Average gas prices during Biden's time have gone from $2.25 a gallon to $3.10. That's a whopping 38 percent spike! 

But you already know that, don't you?

It's not just a Biden thing, it's a ruling class thing. Moronic monetary policy, feckless foreign policy and socialist stagnation have all contributed to where we are today.

Getting Biden out of power will help. But really, that’s just the beginning. We need the entire ruling elite of America out of power and we need American civilization rebuilt from the bottom up.

The fable of the Emperor’s New Clothes has been playing out in Washington DC, thanks to Robert Hur. The special counsel documented what 86 percent of American voters already knew—that Joe Biden had a cognitive decline so profound that a trial for his violations in keeping top-secret documents would be pointless. 

Puck’s Dylan Byers confirmed that the mainstream media had assumed the role of imperial sycophants in the fable.  Byers reported that the White House press corps knew all along that Biden was failing and refused to report it. “He whispers, he shuffles, he misremembers,” one reporter told Byers. “Anyone with an elderly parent knows what this is.”

We hear plenty from media outlets about their necessity for a well-informed public. But the White House press corps didn’t report the facts or “speak truth to power.” They pandered to the Biden White House to curry favor—and to protect his political viability against Donald Trump.  

The Fourth Estate has transformed itself into a sycophantic cheering section. Biden’s not the only one standing naked after Hur’s report.

China already owns over three hundred forty nine acres of American farmland. Now, the number of Chinese migrants at our southern border—many of them young men of military age—has surged. In fiscal year 2023, the number rose to 52,000.

That’s a lot of people from America’s foremost adversary. Some may be in search of a better life—but it’s a safe bet many are here for less innocent reasons. They’re likely to be spies. Or perhaps coming to staff China’s illegal overseas police stations, operating on US soil.

Worst of all, we’re admitting people who could sow chaos across our country, were America ever to go to war with China. And yet the administration lets them keep on coming.

It’s just another example of the Biden administration’s reluctance to take a firm stance when it comes to China. Americans will pay the price.

President Biden’s defenders can tell us all day long that their boss is “sharp” and “focused,” despite federal prosecutors pointing out he couldn’t remember when he was Vice President, despite federal prosecutors finding he was a man of “diminished faculties and faulty memory.”

His defenders will not show us any film of him in his state of excellence—because they cannot, because it does not exist, because Joe Biden does not perform that way … and we all know it.  At this point, Biden’s defenders are debasing themselves.  And we all know that too.

More importantly, our allies and enemies know it.  This is a time of deep concern and trouble for our world—and a man who could not pass a red-flag test to own a handgun is in charge of classified intelligence and nuclear launch codes, not to mention the military of the world’s most important force in the world: ours.

This is a moment that requires senior democrats to tell Mr. Biden he must go.

We understand the political fallout, but a lot more important is at stake.

Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on the president’s handling of classified documents last week was doubly damning. Not only did Hur conclude the president had willfully kept, mishandled and disclosed the documents, he then refused to charge Biden on the grounds he was mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Not surprisingly, the president pushed back hard.

So is the president’s memory fine — in which case he should be indicted? Or is his condition as dire as the special counsel reported — in which case he should step aside for the good of the country?

There’s an easy way to know. The special counsel should release the transcript of the president’s deposition.

If the Biden administration is as confident in the president’s powers as they claim to be, they should demand the transcripts’ release. And so should we. 

Let’s see for ourselves exactly what happened.

It’s long past time for Congress to act to investigate the arguable incapacitation of the president. Americans have long known what Democrats and their enablers in elite media refused to admit—that Joe Biden had entered a cognitive decline that renders him unfit for office. 

Robert Hur exposed the three-year cover-up by the White House, Democrats, and media in his Special Counsel report. Hur warned that Biden lacks the mental competence to demonstrate criminal intent beyond a reasonable doubt. 

In the same week, Biden told Democrat donors on three occasions that he'd spoken with two foreign leaders during his presidency who had died years before he took office. 

The White House and Democrats immediately went on offense to push back. Biden held a press conference in which he confused Egypt with Mexico and shouted at reporters for asking about his competence.

The House needs to subpoena Hur and get the transcripts of Biden’s interviews. Let’s find out who’s lying to whom about a clearly incapable president.

The Special Counsel’s Report constitutes a true constitutional crisis—and who knew the reasons for not indicting Joe Biden would be more important than the conclusion he should not be indicted? 

As the federal prosecutors found and wrote:

Joe Biden did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended. Asking if it was in 2013 when he stopped being vice president and forgetting …. when his term began, asking in 2009 whether he was vice president. He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. 

This report from federal prosecutors goes on to say Joe Biden has “diminished faculties” and “faulty memory.”  For all the blather about the constitutional crisis we were supposedly in because of Donald Trump in 2017, ’18, ’19 and ’20—let me assure you: we have a real constitutional crisis now.

The illegal immigration crisis isn’t just what’s happening at the border.

Many who come here illegally are simply in search of a better life. But others are criminals. And too many of our leaders—who are supposed to uphold our laws and protect our people—aren’t doing either.

Two votes in Congress last week made that painful reality clear. One hundred fifty-five Democrats opposed a bill that would have made social security fraud (or other identification document fraud) a deportable offense for illegal immigrants.  And one hundred fifty Democrats voted against deporting illegal immigrants who drive drunk.

This is unacceptable. Not only are these Democrats condoning the violation of our immigration laws — they’re lawlessly siding with illegal immigrant criminals over the fellow citizens they’ve sworn to serve and protect. And they’re violating their oaths of office.

Let’s hope Americans remember on Election Day.
