Trump v. Biden 2.0 will be nothing like the first clash in 2020 which occurred during the COVID lockdowns and a shuttered economy.
This time around the presidential racetrack President Joe Biden also has a record as president. Voters are looking at his age, but they’re also very concerned about the open southern border, inflation and its impact on groceries, gas and housing, crime and support for Israel in its war with the terrorist organization Hamas.
All these issues favor the former president over the current one.
One other huge development is certain to occur between now and November: Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of Donald Trump. The merits of the case stink. It is a rank political prosecution.
I think this lawfare will almost inevitably help Trump’s campaign, even if he is as expected convicted by a Manhattan jury.
“The best laid plans of mice and men….” occurs to many minds.
When the dust settles on Election 2024 and a former president pulls a Grover Cleveland in the 21st century, one of the people to thank will be Alvin Bragg.

“The world has changed, radically,” Chuck Schumer declared on the Senate floor while demanding regime change in America’s democratic ally, Israel. “The Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past.”
Not only is this breathtakingly inappropriate, it’s also entirely ignorant. The Israeli people have awoken to an existential threat; it is their ally who remains “stuck in the past.” Schumer and Joe Biden imagine Netanyahu as a loose cannon, when in fact the policies he’s pursuing are the result of a broad Israeli consensus to destroy Hamas.
Schumer underscored his ignorance in the speech by demanding a “two state solution.” With whom? Hamas has repeatedly declared that they will annihilate Israel; the United Nations has played along by providing indoctrination of Gaza children into the Hamas Jew-hating cult.
Netanyahu isn’t the problem. Hamas is the problem, and their Iranian sponsors are the problem. Schumer and Biden need to recognize that the world has changed, and that the Israelis have a much clearer view of it.

Before he wrote 1984, George Orwell wrote an essay about the corruption of language for political purposes. The abuse of language he said, is “to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable.” I introduce you to the Joe Biden presidency.
Last week, Joe Biden used the word “illegal” to describe the alleged killer of Laken Riley—and then retracted it, saying he should have called him undocumented. We actually know the alleged murderer was here illegally. Then, Joe Biden issued what he called a “red line” to our ally Israel in its war to defeat Hamas: threats to an ally, kinder and gentler words for a murderer.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden has called the terrorist organization, Hamas, “our opponents” while he calls American Republicans extremists and threats to democracy. Just who is our enemy to Joe Biden? Through his language, we are learning.
I often read the novel 1984 and say MOFA: Let’s Make Orwell Fiction Again. Well, it’s not just about the novel.

An immigrant comes into America illegally and kills a twenty-two year old nursing student in Georgia, Laken Riley. That’s two illegal acts, including the taking of an innocent life dedicated to helping others.
President Joe Biden properly called the alleged killer of Laken Riley an illegal immigrant. Which is precisely what the alleged killer was, as literally defined by law. But the left-wing controlled Democratic party does not like the phrase “illegal” describing such people because it exposes the party’s views too directly.
So, Joe Biden retracted his statement that the alleged murderer—who crossed our border against the law!—was “illegal” saying he regrets using that word and should have called him “undocumented.” He then went on to say undocumented—or illegal—immigrants “built the country.”
This is madness. If you think Joe Biden represents any form of moderacy, think again: today’s Democrats—including Joe Biden—are in the vice-grip of the left. And it’s now diminishing the murder of the innocent.

Sometimes reality is really hard to deny. You can try it, but reality has a way of proving itself to be real. The truth has a way of pushing itself out front, proving itself to be true.
Consider this recent headline from the Los Angeles Times: “Liberal San Francisco To Get Tough On Drug Crimes” with the subhead: “Facing a crisis, the city will consider murder charges for dealers in fatal opioid overdoses.”
Now, this is bizarre. It’s very telling at every turn. We have liberal prosecutors who quite frankly have been running for their lives. You have some in California who have been removed from office. All of us across the country had better be watching this very carefully.
The big point here is that we’re seeing sin show up as crime, in all of its deadliness, and in this case it’s just irrefutable. And eventually, even in a place like liberal San Francisco—and yes, Los Angeles called San Fransisco “liberal”—you have legal authorities, based upon cries for rescue from the people, who are saying, “You’ve got to do something about this!”
In other words, reality is biting back.

It’s Joe Biden v. Donald Trump—redux.
That’s the race for the presidency. If Joe Biden were not going to be the nominee, word would have leaked by now. For anyone who is undecided, we have something rare in politics: a controlled experiment—the tenure of both a Trump and a Biden presidency.
Under Trump, we had a growing economy reaching and helping everyone, fuel and food prices were down, our allies confident, and our enemies contained. You had illegal immigration receding and drug deaths—while too high—in the five figures annually. Under Biden, we had record inflation and spending; allies invaded and attacked; our enemies on the march, rewarded with billions of dollars; illegal immigration skyrocketed; our border obliterated. Deaths of despair have reached into the six figures annually.
The truth is this: there is not one single index of domestic or foreign policy under Biden that is better than during the Trump years.
The choice should be clear.

The annual State of the Union address combines the grandeur of our constitutional democracy and a bit of political grandstanding. It was more political grandstanding than constitutional grandeur last night when President Joe Biden delivered his State of the Union address, he knew he was facing the political challenge of his life.
The American people are rightly concerned about his age and mental condition. The president didn't face plant exactly. He did mumble some big lines. He mangled word order and invented some new words.
But here’s the point: The big problem with the President’s State of the Union addresses not how he said it, it’s what he said. The President went through a litany of liberal concerns. He made a seemingly endless number of liberal promises, and he offered enthusiastic, unabashed, unrestrained support for abortion and the culture of death.
Again, the big problem is not how the president said it. The big problem is what he said.

Chief among Americans’ complaints against President Biden’s Justice Department has been selective prosecution. It seems those on the right are prosecuted for conduct the left engages in with impunity.
One federal judge in California agreed. He’s thrown out charges against right wing rioters on the grounds of selective prosecution.
The rioters attended a pro-Trump free-speech rally in 2017. Leftist rioters, who attend such events to fight the right-wing groups, came primed for violence and attacked Trump supporters and police.
The Biden Justice Department charged them under the Anti-Riot Act. Subsequently, the district court judge dismissed charges based on selective prosecution. He noted that the leftist groups instigated much of the violence and by many accounts behaved worse than the right-wing groups.
But the Biden Justice Department has appealed. It seems their old habits die hard.
One thing is clear. It’s time for equal justice in America again.

President Trump had the border under control by the end of his first term and Trump has promised to do so again, quickly, in his second term.
President Biden, in the sharpest contrast of the campaign ahead, lost control of that border by simply abandoning the Trump policy. More than nine million people have entered the country without permission in his first three years.
That number, of course, does not include so-called “got-aways”—the illegal immigrants who never “encountered” law enforcement.
Add to this the deaths from fentanyl streaming over our border with the illegal immigrants and organized crime, and we see all too clearly:
The border is a mess.
And it gets worse: Only 450 Chinese nationals were “encountered” at the border in 2021. By 2023, that number swelled to, wait for it, over 24,000. Estimates are that another 19,000 Chinese nationals have already entered in 2024 and the surge in this demographic is increasing. The vast majority of these Chinese people are military-aged, single males.
We’re looking at a national security issue of the first order.
We need to get serious now.

In a victory for former President Donald Trump, the Supreme Court has rejected Colorado’s effort to keep him off its ballot this November. In doing so, the Court rejected a novel legal theory that would have allowed individual states to disqualify candidates for federal office.
What’s striking is that the unsigned opinion was unanimous. Every single Supreme Court justice agreed with the central holding—that Colorado’s Supreme Court had erred in barring Trump from appearing on the ballot.
The importance of this unanimity can’t be overstated. It signals that Colorado’s legal theory was a fringe one, and in doing so, it deters similar efforts in the future.
A divided court, with dissenting opinions upholding the Colorado effort, would have had the metaphorical effect of injecting poison into our body politic. Kudos to the Supreme Court for uniting to protect the stability of our American electoral system.
