Toy Power Podcast

This week on the Toy Power Podcast, we have special guest Criss Fresh back to join us for another fun new segment.  This round we each pick a multi-year spanning Vintage Toyline & then narrow it down to what wee each personally believe was it's best year.  Spinning out of the choices are: Frank picks: 1986 Hasbro G1 Transformers.  Fresh goes with: 1990 Hasbro WWF.  Ben leans on his nostalgia & brings back all the memories of 1989 Playmates TMNT.  Then Trent decides to chat about the 1988 Kenner Real Ghostbusters Toyline.  With each of our choices, we look at what was released during that period and how it compared to the rest of the Toylines Run.  This was a lot of fun to analyse.  Then we round out the with a classic Latest Scores chat.  Enjoy!

This week on Toy Power we are joined by the legendary Fresh. First up its an amazing Canadian themed gift box from Colin Betts and some genuinely amazing goodies including one very special custom! Its then into all the news, including the HasLab Cantina funding update, Garfield and Friends, an Ultimate D&D Tiamat (complete with all 5 heads) and new comic Kull and Conan figures! Fresh then gives us some good news for getting your hands on wrestling figures in Australia (and good news for your wallet too). There's new video game figures from Spin Master, and then a tonne of TMNT news starting with a totally NOT Bebop figure, a 1:12 Collective Casey Jones (already sold out), the long awaited Tatsu figure from the  1990 TMNT movie (but why is he red?) and Karai as the Shredder (Fresh's cosplay of choice). Fugitoid is relegated to an accessory in the Last Ronin accessory pack, and then we a get (more) naked Mikey (come on, they are always kind of naked anyhow). Rounding it out with some1988 Michael Keaton figures from Beetlejuice before we get excited from the new Captain America film. Then all the SDCC 2024 exclusives, including one reveal that is, lets just say, not well received. Mikey's Pizza delivery business may just have to be done on Foot!!!!

This week on the Toy Power Podcast, we are each given a tasked of calling out Five iconic Toy Villains.  But we have placed some ground rules down, and narrowed the window of this rounds Evil Doers release dates to the years between 1970 & 1989.  With the four of us in the room each voting; we will ultimately form the Toy Power Top Twenty Villains!  This is a lot harder than one may think....  Do we let Nostalgia take-over our choices?  Or do we have other methods in mind...?  When push comes to shove, our individual choices might surprise a few people & our decisions are quite diverse!  Then; rounding out the ep, we have a entertaining chat around the Reading, Watching, Playing.  Enjoy!

This week on the Toy Power Podcast we have our very knowledgeable Guest: Floppy; back in studio with some proper get-to-know-you Questions.  Then we MASK-UP as we sing our way into the mid-eighties Toyline that was M.A.S.K. from Kenner.  We each pick out a standout release from each wave.  This is incredibly fun, as some of us in the room aren't as familiar with the Toyline as others.  This is where Floppy's general passion for this property really comes though!  Then rounding out the ep, we have a unique un-boxing to do - with an in-hand Ramen Toys - Makina Labs - Red Gullwing.  How does it compare to it's eighties counterpart?

Credit to the Band: Punk Rock Factory - for the cover version of the M.A.S.K. intro played in this episode.
