With the release of the newest Skylanders game - Imaginators - right around the corner, we knew we had to make Episode 92 special in some way or another. With the sea of options for fans of the franchise about to released on Sunday, we brought in yet another expert to help make heads and tails of the Imaginators launch. Matt Sonnenberg, from SkylandersCharacterList.com, was kind enough to join us two knuckleheads and fully reunite the 3 amigos for a classic episode of the Toys For Games 'Cast.

We start off by getting to know Matt, for those in the audience who may not be too familiar with the voice behind the world-renowned name and international superstar. Sure, Matt is the man behind the most comprehensive Skylanders fan site out there, but there's so much to Mr. Sonnenberg.

After reuniting with Matt, we get down to business by discussing some news, speculation, and hype - all in regards to amiibo! Then we talk about LEGO Dimensions, where Matt filled us in on how he's liking the second season of Dimensions. Then we gave a real-time update for the Lightseekers Kickstarter campaign.

(Check it out HERE).

Finally we talked about some recent news for Skylanders, and did a full breakdown on what to expect com October 16th … the launch day for Skylanders.

From there, we read the #CommunityQuestion and awarded a listener a cool prize for having the Response of the Week. Finally, we wrapped up the show with some fantastic emails, as always!

All this, and more, only in Episode 92!

Episode 91 has been a few weeks in the making, ever since we first heard of the new entry into the toys-to-life genre, Lightseekers! Going back to their initial introduction announcement about the upcoming mobile game/ toys-to-life game/ card game hybrid, we have been incredibly excited about Lightseekers. It was only inevitable that we had a formal introduction with the team behind the newest franchise to get regular coverage on the Toys For Games 'Cast, as we talked about how Lightseekers is kickstarting the passion behind the game.

During the interview with a room full of great folks representing Lightseekers, we chatted about what exactly Lightseekers is, dove into the madness of how a card game grew from the toys-to-life figures, crazy whiteboards, the importance of building a community, a dino with a top hat, and much, much more! We also talked about the Kickstarter campaign that Lightseekers is beginning, and trust us - it's exciting, and worth checking out!

After saying goodbye to our new friends, we got down to talking about the rest of the news from around the genre, including a random restock of amiibo with a retailer exclusive, LEGO Dimensions Waves 8 and & 9 starting to make sense, and the resolved mystery about the Creation App for Skylanders that will allow fans to bring their imaginations to life in physical form.

From there, we read the #CommunityQuestion and awarded a listener a cool prize for having the Response of the Week. Then we tried to stump the expert with a trivia question submitted by the community for the Inquire This! segment. Finally, we wrapped up the show with some fantastic emails, as always!

All this, and more, only in Episode 91!

As we're beginning to finally start enjoying the Fall season - with the exception of a pesky sinus infection - the changing of the leaves and the dropping of temperatures can only mean one thing … new releases! While we may not be getting the same type of new releases this year as we did in 2015, it's an exciting time for the toys-to-life community nonetheless. Not every launch can be perfectly smooth though, and even though LEGO Dimensions promises to "break the rules," Wave 6 seems to breaking more than the rules, unfortunately.

We start off with some typical banter before getting down to the nitty gritty of discussing all the news from the previous week. First, we talk about some Disney Infinity news, and it's quite bittersweet to have that franchise back on the show. Then we hype up the Customs for a Cure custom amiibo charity auction hosted by Nintendo Wire. We discuss the continued awesomeness of the Lightseekers team and their continued communication with the community. We jump over to Skylanders and talk about some cool bundles available now and some crazy blunders by Activision. Finally, we break down the launch of LEGO Dimensions Wave 6 - both the good and the bad.

From there we grabbed our Pumpkin Spice Lattes, read the #CommunityQuestion and awarded a listener a cool prize for having the Response of the Week. Then we tried to stump the expert with a trivia question submitted by the community for the Inquire This! segment. Finally, we wrapped up the show with some fantastic emails, as always!

If there is a podcast that is better at going off the rails quicker and more often than the Toys For Games 'Cast, we'd love to know, because Episode 89 is one for the record books! With the first official day of Fall, 'tis the season for new releases, including Season 2 of LEGO Dimensions right around the corner.

Despite trying to steer the show right into the side of the mountain before we even got going - because, you know, mascots - we had a bunch of news to cover this week. First, we talked about the Monster Hunter amiibo and the mysterious Bayonetta amiibo tease. Then we broke down the upcoming Season 2 of LEGO Dimensions, including the newly announced Wave 7.5. Over in Skylands, we ran through tons of random news, leaks, and tidbits about Imaginators. Finally, we praised the continued efforts of Lightseekers to officially join the toys-to-life genre.

We then broke down the #CommunityQuestion and awarded a listener a cool prize for having the Response of the Week. Then we tried to stump the expert with a trivia question submitted by the community for the Inquire This! segment. Finally, we wrapped up the show with some fantastic emails, including a first-hand report from EGX!

The moment you all have been waiting for is here! That's right, it's the return of Jason to the co-host chair, as he makes his triumphant return for Episode 88. While the world famous - sometimes infamous - toys-to-life podcast is back to its normal form, we had a special topic on this show. Join us on our new adventure into the toys-to-life, as we explore Tantos, seeking the light.

As always, we broke down all the recent news from the tentpole franchises we love to talk about. Before we got to the fun community interactions, however, we got to gush about a new game entering the gaming space we all know and love, which we are just learning about along with the rest of the world. Lightseekers, an ambitious new franchise hoping to bridge the many gaps in the toys-to-life space with refined ideas of how gamers interact with their games.

After learning all about Lightseekers, we jumped over to the #CommunityQuestion and awarded a listener a cool prize for having the Response of the Week. Then we tried to stump the expert with a trivia question submitted by the community for the Inquire This! segment. Finally, we wrapped up the show with some fantastic emails, several of which were in regards to Lightseekers as well!
