TQ 046 Maria from Michigan, the U.S.

Maria is at my university to teach a short-term ESL course.  She is here with her son, Ross, who will also be interviewed. Her father is from Guatemala, so she is from a multicultural family and can speak Spanish. Listen as we talk about her large extended family and about state vs private universities. I also use bad grammar in this podcast episode, but it was to make my sentence stronger, so it's OK. I said "I love me a good thunderstorm." Don't use "I love me . . . " when you write an essay or when you write your clients and customers, but you can use it in casual speaking. Here are some words Maria uses that you may not know: collaborative agreement between universities, in-state tuition, out-of-state tuition, providential, siblings, bossy, a novelty, to dabble, and celebratory mood of the holidays.
