Jesus was not adding more religious rules. Instead, He was pointing people to something deeper. A transformed heart. Through teachings like “let your yes be yes and your no be no” and “turn the other cheek,” Jesus challenges us to examine our motives, our integrity, and how we respond when we are insulted or wronged.
