2016 is drawing to a close, and what a year it has been. So much amazing music has been released and so many incredible artists have shone. But forget the Grammys, the real recognition this work needs is here, and it's coming from The Tracks Awards.

All four of our episodes in December will be dedicated to paying tribute to our favourite releases this year, and this week we're focusing on three categories - best live performance, best album artwork and best newcomer.

Who doesn't love a Sunday? Lay-ins, good food and great company. In many ways it's the best day of the week.

Well, this we spent last Sunday evening in the studio discussing the perfect music to end the week with, just for you, and came up with some absolute bangers.

We're not going to lie to you, this episode is a bit of a ramble. Our relaxed Sunday attitudes lead us down many a tangent, but with plenty of laughs and tunes from the likes of The Streets, Doves, Mac Demarco, Paul Weller and The Stone Roses it ended up being pretty damn huge. Maybe even too huge for a Sunday? Who knows.

Last Thursday Whitney, one of our favourite bands of 2016, touched down in Brighton to play a headline slot at The Haunt. We were lucky enough to be there and, in a Tracks first, we bring you our coverage of what was a spectacular gig and a brilliant night.

If musicians were dedicated a month, what would it be and why? That's the question we decided to ask ourselves for this episode as, for the first time in Tracks history, our release date falls on the first day of the month.

The links may be tenuous, but the tracks certainly are not. They're fantastic. Expect bangers from the likes of Drenge, Pond, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip and The Drums in a fun filled episode.
