FAVORITE TAKEAWAYS:
We’ve normalized and made busyness a big joke that we feel like this is the way it’s supposed to be and there’s no other way to be and we’re missing out on the full embodiment of who God made us to be.
All of the busyness and all the running around makes it so that none of our relationships are as fulfilling as they are supposed to be.
We are trying to get to a place where we are balancing rather than balanced - it’s a verb, not a noun.
If we see balance as a place of arrival then we are always failing
Those of us who have grown up in the church, we have this voice in our head that says: you are supposed to be selfless to a fault, you are basically supposed to kill yourself on this altar and bleed yourself dry.
When we feel like we’ve got to achieve a certain balance, it becomes all about us.
Shift your mindset rather than try to stop your mindset
4 Steps to Reset When You Are Worried:
*Take deep breaths between each step*
The Lord was here first
Simplify your schedule by blocking
We are such a performance based society and because of that when we think about even spending time with God we put our performance lens on it
