Tim takes us to a whole new level of adventure in the trail running sphere by adding the ideas of orienteering and Rogaining. Finding you way with just a compass and map and doing it with other people relying on you. Intelligence, cooperation and stamina all mixed together. We have a really interesting conversation and Tim has us both keen to give it a go sometime soon.
Sheila joins Tara and Kristen for a chat after the regular Trail Tales run at Whites Hill where she saw koalas for the first time. Sheila is from Kenya and explains that to do a trail run there, you need to factor in the possibility of encountering a lion, so koalas are a treat!
Sheila has significant ultra run events under her belt and shares beautifully about her running journey. You will love her endearing African accent - she is a delight.
We chat with our good friend Row who has just qualified as a trail run coach. Her insights into what helps people run well and enjoy it, are super helpful. Maybe you want to improve your running and connect even deeper with the trail running community. Then maybe coaching is for you.

Tara and Bryce are joined by Dominque and we have a great chat with Michi all the way from Japan. His achievements are legendary and yet he is completely humble and relational.
His great hope is to encourage more Australians to discover the wonderful trails in Japan and to continue to run further and further in his own backyard ultra running journey.
In this episode we catch up with our good friends Lisa Hennell and Rowan Cassidy. Rowan is the founder of the We've Gotcha BACKyard Ultra event that inspired us to become such backyard ultra fans. In this episode we chat to two of our well loved trail running buddies who inspire us. Kristen ran the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100 miler and Sharon ran the 50 miler. Huge efforts from them both and without giving too much away this episode touches on scary creatures of the night, spew marathons and the unexpected presence of unicorns.
Sean is one of our running buddies and we have seen him go from "regular running buddy" to "elite backyard Ultra legend" in the space of a year. But Sean is a balanced and humble sort of guy and we really enjoyed chatting with our friend who just ran 266 kilometers without stopping. I'm sure you will too!
Joe is a terrific fellow and we loved chatting. His expertise in all things feet and lower limbs is really interesting and relevant. His own running journey adds credibility and nuance to the conversation. If you have ever had Planter, shin splints or blisters - this episode is for you.
