  • #7: Stages of a Product Launch: Pre-Launch, Launch and Post-Launch
Double your list size and get sales in just a few weeks.
If your goal is to attract more traffic to your content, or to make massive sales, you should follow the LAUNCHING process.
    WHAT IS A LAUNCH?
A launch is nothing more than a marketing campaign with a particular goal.
The goal is usually selling a product, but it can also have the goal of doubling your mailing list size, or attracting people’s attention to one of your offers (even if it is a free offer, like a podcast).
In this episode I walk you through the 3 stages of launch: pre-launch, launch, and post-launch.
    PRE-LAUNCH
This is the stage where you get everyone excited about your launch.
You can run ads, send emails to your list and go on a social media spree trying to get everyone excited for what you are about to show them.
There are a few ways to do this type of countdown sequence. A few of them are:
    Do a challenge
    4-part video series
    Series of blog posts
    Webinar
    LAUNCH
Your launch begins as soon as your cart opens (on the day of your webinar, or the last day of the challenge or video series).
In this phase you share the sales page for your offer, and send messages to your audience to remind them when the cart will close.
It is important that you continue to provide great content during this phase.
Once your audience has added the item to their cart, this is a good time to offer an UPSELL.
An upsell is an offer that makes the original offer a sweeter deal. It should be something that complements the original offer and makes for a better experience.
    POST-LAUNCH
Once your cart closes, you have the option to provide a DOWNSELL.
The downsell offer is a trimmed down version of the larger offer, which should appear to folks who were not ready for the larger leap, but are still engaged and would like to get value from premium content.
Once your downsell expires, it’s time to follow up and find out why people didn’t buy.
This is something that is best achieved through phone calls, or a survey.

To help you with this, I created a checklist to help you plan you first big launch!

  • #6: How to do market research on Facebook
Facebook can be a goldmine for market research. You just have to know where to look!
Last week we wrapped up an EPIC Idea Validation Challenge and it was exactly that: EPIC.
Now we take that as a perfect segway to dive a little deeper into how to do market research on Facebook, when you don’t even have an audience yet!
HOW TO DO MARKET RESEARCH ON FACEBOOK
In last week’s episode we talked about how to do market research on a much smaller scale.
The truth of the matter is that real market research is about doing a full assessment of the current market.
What are competitors doing? Finding out who is buying your competitors products!
Here’s the problem, though: when you start out, you don’t have an audience, so you can’t ask your audience anything.
So I wanted to share with you a trick to get around this problem.
    USING EXISTING FACEBOOK GROUPS
When you think of where you audience may be hanging out, think of massive Facebook groups.
Just do a search for your topic and start joining Facebook groups that have more than 10K members.
When you search for groups, try to think creatively.
People who want to start a pdocast may not be in Podcasters groups, but they may be in their particular niche group, like fashion groups, or fitness groups.
Once you are in, that’s where the fun begins.
I’m going tell you a couple of ways to do it. But the more you do it, the more you’ll become a master at it.
    1) POST SOMETHING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS LIKELY TO RESPOND TO
We all go ga-ga for something. What is that thing that would make your audience respond?
To help you with this, I created a freebie. It’s a bonus for signing onto my mailing list. It is 20 conversation starters that you can apply to your industry today!
    2) SEARCH FOR KEYWORDS WITHIN THE GROUP
What are people talking about when it comes to your topic?
Perform a search to find out what people are saying about it and start reading comments!
    USING AMAZON BOOK REVIEWS
Another great way is to run a search for popular books on Amazon that are related to your niche, and read the reviews!
People LOVE to complain out loud, which is why there are so many more negative reviews than positive for anything!
So this will be a gold mine for your objections research.

  • #5: The 4 Traits of a Winning Website – Idea Validation Challenge (Day 5)
What is a website that sells?
Welcome to Day 5 of the Idea Validation Challenge!
This challenge is for those who have a great business idea, and they want to make sure it will WORK before you invest time and money into it!
It is also for people who already started a business, and they want to revisit their target audience to increase their reach.
Join the conversation at our Facebook Group:
WHAT IS A WEBSITE THAT SELLS?
A website that sells is one that keeps your target audience engaged and gives them what they need right when they need it.
We are not even talking about driving traffic to your site yet.
We are talking about when someone lands on your page. Does it help them? Does it make them want to keep clicking through to find out more?
THE 4 TRAITS OF A WINNING WEBSITE
A professional website that sells must have the following components:
    #1 PERSONALITY:
    YOUR personality.
Unless you are a faceless corporation, your audience will want to know who they are buying from.
What’s your story? Do you have a kind smile or a no-nonsense face?
People are drawn to people they can admire. Be that person. Don’t hide behind your product.
#2 OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN A COMMUNITY
When someone lands on your site, they may click around, and leave. Then forget they ever visited. You just lost a potential customer or advocate.
Your goal should be to keep them engaged beyond their visiting your site.
The best way to do this is to provide something (for free) that they cannot help but click on, and add themselves to your mailing list.
If you are going to build an audience, you must have a mailing list that you can nurture and inform about what you have going on.
    #3 GREAT FREE CONTENT
Ever notice how your website just doesn’t get a lot of traffic? Do you ever wonder why?
The reason some websites get traffic and some don’t is related to how much great content the site has AND how many ways there are for people to find it.
People will visit your website from any of these sources:
    Google search
    Pinterest
    Facebook posts
    Facebook ads
    YouTube videos
    YouTube ads
    You speaking at an event
You posting on someone else’s blog
You being a guest in someone’s podcast
You email your mailing list with a GREAT blog post they MUST check out
    Someone forwards it to them
The question for you is: how much effort are you putting into being found through any of these ways? If the answer is none, then that explains the crickets.
What you want to do is have this list up on your wall (your physical home wall) and look at it every single day, and every day do something to put your great content out in one of those channels.
Over time, and faster if you are smart with your search keywords, people will start finding your site.
And every single time you put content out there, you must come back to your blog and add it there as well.
Your website must be the central hub for all your content.
This allows your audience to have solid bearings around what you are doing, and where to find all your content.
Before we reveal the last trait of a winning website, I have an announcement to make.
At 12pm EST on Friday, July 13th I am opening the cart to my course: WP FOR COMPLETE BEGINNERS. This course is for you if you are ready to set up your online presence and make your idea a reality!
The Early Bird Price will expire by midnight (EST) on Sunday, July 15th.
Got questions? We got answers! PM me on Facebook!
Super exciting, right?? I can’t wait to tell you more about it! Visit the sign up page to learn more.
    Ok, back to the challenge.
And the final trait of a winning website is: (drumroll)
    #4 AN IRRESISTIBLE HOMEPAGE
The first screen your audience sees when they visit your site may be the last one they will ever see.
For this reason, it should be packed with visually appealing information without being too wordy, and it should offer a reason to click through, such as offering a freebie right there front and center.
