We are called to live in such a way that honors the emperor. As a citizen of another kingdom, we can simply honor those in authority over us, but changes in government or society doesn't change who we are in Christ.

You have been given a corporate identity. You have been saved to the church. However you still have to live as a citizen of this world. Following God makes you a better citizen.

What if the church or government doesn't view its role properly? Our responsibilities to the government are subservient to our responsibilities to God's rule.

While 49% of Americans may be disappointed with the election, 100% of christians were disappointed with the Roman government. But God says that he establishes every government. Submission to the government is obedience to Jesus.

Discipline is not to release frustration, it is to correct children. Anger does not produce righteousness.

You can teach what you know, but you'll reproduce who you are. Deuteronomy tells us when and where to use words to build our kids. James teaches us how powerful these words are.

God's not after your children's obedience, he is after their heart. Parenting should focus not only on behavioral change, but affections and desires as well.

God has placed everyone within an authority structure. Parents have been given authority in the home to develop, instruct, and discipline kids. Acceptance of that derived authority from God gives parents direction and kids someone to turn to.

The Pharisee was blind to his sin, blind to the Savior, and blind to another in need. She saw her sin and saw the Jesus was the one who could forgive.
