Acompañar a alguien que sufre —o atravesar nuestro propio duelo— a veces nos deja con una sensación profunda de impotencia. Quisiéramos aliviar el dolor, cambiar la historia… pero no podemos. Y está bien reconocerlo. 

La impotencia no es debilidad, es humanidad. Lo que sí podemos es estar presentes, escuchar sin corregir y abrazarnos con compasión.

Supporting someone in pain—or facing our own grief—can leave us with a deep sense of powerlessness. We wish we could ease the suffering, change the story... but we can’t. And it's okay to name that truth. 

Powerlessness is not weakness, it’s part of being human. What we can do is be present, listen without fixing, and meet ourselves with compassion.
