When RNIB volunteer Tom Chalmers got the call to attend an award ceremony at the Scottish Parliament, he had no idea that his name would be drawn from the golden envelope.

Tom, who has turned his life around thanks to his participation in a drumming group, was recognised for his work to tackle his own mental health issues and encourage others to improve their mental health.

RNIB Connect Radio’s Allan Russell spoke to Tom to hear more about the award, and why drumming is such a great therapy.
