Transformed By Grace

Many in Christendom mistakenly lump the Apostle Paul in with the twelve apostles and say they all preached the same message, and that Paul’s apostleship and ministry was just an extension of the twelve’s. It is also incorrect to say that Paul should have been the twelfth apostle or that he was the thirteenth apostle of the kingdom. This episode shines the spotlight on these errors, while also revealing the distinction of Paul’s unique ministry, commissioned by God, to the Gentiles and for the current age of grace. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/374-the-apostle-of-grace/

Something went wrong in Israel when Christ came and ministered in her midst for 3½ years—the nation as a whole rejected her Messiah. In this episode, we learn from a parable the Lord gave in Luke 13 that the unspiritual nation was granted “one more year” to allow for a final national opportunity to repent and believe. With another refusal of the Holy Spirit’s witness at the stoning of Stephen, Israel was temporarily cast aside and the prophesied Tribulation judgment postponed. God then ushered in the current dispensation of grace and the “mystery” revealed to the Apostle Paul, and formed the Church, the Body of Christ. The Tribulation will still take place one day, after the Rapture, so all are urged today to trust in Christ’s death and resurrection for salvation to escape the coming wrath. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/299-one-more-year/

In this episode we discuss Christ’s inevitable Second Coming, which will occur at the end of the Tribulation, to deliver the nation of Israel from the Antichrist, crushing his armies at the Battle of Armageddon and establishing the millennial kingdom on earth—distinct from the earlier pre-tribulational Rapture of the Church. Revelation 19 vividly describes Jesus returning on a white war horse, with eyes like flames of fire, many crowns, a blood-dipped robe, and a sharp sword from His mouth that slays the nations, and later results in the Antichrist and false prophet being cast alive into the lake of fire. The battle culminates in a river of blood, supernatural confusion among the enemy, and total victory for Christ. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/325-second-coming/

This lesson describes the dramatic salvation of Saul of Tarsus on the Damascus Road as a pivotal Bible event. Paul recounts (in Acts 22) his background as a zealous and highly trained Pharisee who persecuted Christians unto death, until a blinding heavenly light and the voice of the risen Jesus struck him down near Damascus, revealing Christ, humbling him, and commissioning him as the apostle to the Gentiles. This marks the monumental shift in God’s program from Israel under the law to the dispensation of grace, forming the Church (the Body of Christ) with a heavenly hope. Paul was saved by grace alone as the “chief of sinners,” sent to proclaim the gospel of grace to all nations. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/324-damascus-road/

With its opening illustration, this episode draws a parallel to the infinitely greater price the Son of God paid to rescue humanity from sin’s bondage by dying on the cross. Focusing on Matthew 27:45-54, it details the six hours of crucifixion: three hours of light followed by three hours of supernatural darkness, when God judged the world’s sins laid on Christ. At that moment, the temple veil tore from top to bottom, a great earthquake split rocks, and graves opened. After Christ’s resurrection, many saints rose and appeared in Jerusalem as proof of victory over death, showing the cross conquered sin, satisfied the law, and forever provides free access to God’s presence for every believer. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/323-the-cross/

This episode explores God’s miraculous parting of the Red Sea, which was proof of His power, provision, and mercy in delivering Israel. After luring Pharaoh’s massive chariot army into pursuit by directing Israel to camp vulnerably against the sea, Moses reassures the terrified multitude to “stand still and see the salvation of the LORD.” The pillar of cloud moves behind them for protection, Moses stretches out his rod, a strong east wind divides the waters into towering walls on dry ground so Israel can cross safely all night, and then the waters return to drown Pharaoh’s entire army. This sequence symbolizes our salvation, where Christ parts death’s barrier, drowns our enemies (sin and Satan), and opens a path of dry ground for believers to march from bondage into victory and eternal life in Him. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/322-red-sea/

This lesson presents Genesis 12 as a watershed moment in Scripture: after eleven chapters of God dealing with all mankind, the focus narrows to one man and his family as God calls Abram to leave his country, kindred, and father’s house for an unknown land, promising to make from him a great nation (Israel), give him a great name, bless those who bless him and curse those who curse him, and bless all families of the earth through his seed. Abraham obeys by faith, traveling 400–500 miles to Canaan, and God appears to him at Shechem, promising the land to his descendants, prompting Abraham to build altars at Shechem and Bethel—serving as the greatest biblical example of faith, contrasting Babel’s “let us” self-glory with God’s “I will” plan for Israel. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/321-call-of-abraham/

In this episode, the Tower of Babel is presented as the next major Bible event. After the Flood, Noah’s descendants settled in the plain of Shinar and united in one language to build a city and a towering ziggurat, defiantly refusing God’s command to scatter and fill the earth (Gen. 9:1) in a humanistic, self-glorifying act of pride and unbelief. God then came down, confounded their single language so they could no longer communicate, scattered them across the earth, and halted the tower—explaining the origin of the world’s approximately 7,000 languages and peoples, marking the failure of human government, and setting the stage for God’s call of Abraham to create one nation (Israel) that would bless all families of the earth. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/320-tower-of-babel/

After contrasting Noah’s righteous, blameless life of faith and daily walk with God against a world “corrupt before God” and “filled with violence,” this lesson next details God’s command to construct a three-story, pitch-sealed ark. Noah and his family entered by faith, and God supernaturally gathered two of every land-dependent animal “kind” plus extras of the clean kinds, then sealed them all inside just before the fountains of the great deep burst and the windows of heaven opened, drowning every living thing outside while the ark safely floated for 150 days. The ark is presented as a picture of our salvation—planned from eternity past, entered by faith alone for deliverance from judgment, sealed by God for total security, and entered through a single door (Christ). https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/319-the-flood/

This episode presents the biblical account of Creation from Genesis 1 as a literal, six-day series of supernatural miracles by the triune God. Beginning with the formation of time, space (heaven), and matter (earth) on day one, followed by light, the firmament, dry land and vegetation on days two and three, the sun, moon, and stars on day four, sea creatures and birds on day five, and land animals plus mankind on day six, each day demonstrates God’s power, order, and purposeful divisions. The message concludes that humanity’s purpose is found in knowing, worshipping, and submitting to the Creator, Whose completed work was declared “very good,” evoking wonder, praise, and faith, as echoed in the Books of Psalms and Isaiah. https://bereanbiblesociety.org/tbg-episode/318-creation/
