In this episode, we explore a topic that all of us can relate to: CONFLICT. On this side of the Fall, to be in relationship with another person or with a group of people (whether its a family, a friend group, a club, an organization, or country).... is to know and experience CONFLICT.
Conflicts are a sad and inevitable reality of life. Brokenness in relationships is one of the consequences of all of our sin, selfishness, self-centeredness, and rebellion against God. Conflicts affect us all. Even those who are in relationship with Jesus. For some of us, this is very personal. For some of us, this is very painful. And for some of us, this is very present in our reality.
Together, we will explore the topic of CONFLICT and talk about how we can handle it GOD'S way. As we look at the story of deep personal and national conflict within Israel in 2 Samuel 2-4, we will learn about two categories of POOR ways to handle conflict. Then, we will have opportunity to survey the Scripture to learn what the Bible teaches about GOD'S way of handling conflict. As people reconciled to God, we are called to resolve conflict in a way that is remarkably different from the way the world. We want to glorify God, serve other people, and grow to be like Jesus.
As you listen to this episode, you will receive a NINE STEP biblical process of peacemaking and conflict resolution. You will also be helped and challenged to consider how you can lead in the peacemaking process God's way!
