On our second episode of Transgender Warriors we discuss the life to day and extraordinary musical and artist contribution of ANOHNI, the trans singer, composer and visual artist who first rose to fame after her band Antony and the Johnson’s won the Mercury Music prize for their 2005 album “I am a Bird Now”.
If you’d like to learn more about ANOHNI, check out the history of Blacklips performance cult and the video of a 2011 reprisal of one of their liver-throwing performances at HOWL!
Finally, to hear from this extraordinary woman herself check out the full Channel 4 interview with ANOHNI, where she discusses her album Hopelessness.
Towards the end of the show we discuss the Victorian Birth Certificate Law Reform bill, which was passed in the legislative assembly on 13 August 2019, and will be debated in the Victorian legislative council in the last week of August 2019.
