The crew pushes deeper into Outpost Argentum and finds themselves in a vast acid-processing chamber, where bubbling corrosive pools churn beneath suspended catwalks, and half-finished Cybertronian bodies are lowered for "purification." The air burns, the footing is treacherous, and every mistake threatens dissolution. Waiting for them are the Doctrine's enforcers: Clinch, Weldscar, and Sightline—a coordinated triumvirate engineered to fight as one. As acid geysers erupt and catwalks buckle under fire, the battle becomes a brutal test of positioning, teamwork, and endurance.

TransMissions Podcast Network presents: the world's first and only Transformers RPG actual play podcast! Conceived, developed, and run by TransMissions Podcast producer and editor Michael Ordway (@minervion), this podcast combines the tabletop role playing game (RPG) experience (think Dungeons and Dragons) with the setting, universe, and characters of the Transformers into an actual play podcast. Each episode records the gaming sessions as the player characters experience the adventures planned and designed by the game master (GM). The RPG system being used is based on Starfinder, a sci-fi variant of Pathfinder, combined with elements of the Transformers-themed Mechamorphosis d20 system (more info here).

Empire of Rust takes place in the IDW Comics Transformers Universe that ran from 2005 to 2018. It is set at the beginning of the "First Strike" storyline that was published in 2017. But while the starting point is based on the events of the first issue of First Strike - where Earth is being inducted into the Cybertronian Council of Worlds - the story of Empire of Rust will be very different. So if you've read the comics, don't think you know what's going to happen!

The players have all created original Transformer characters to take part in this adventure, but they're sure to encounter some familiar faces in their adventures on Cybertron, and beyond.

The infiltration goes violently sideways as the crew stumbles into one of Outpost Argentum's deadliest internal defenses: a precision laser corridor designed to turn intruders into neatly sorted components. Trapped, divided, and under a rapidly adapting kill-grid, the team must think fast, move faster, and decide who's willing to risk dismemberment so the mission can continue. As the Doctrine's cold logic asserts itself, the crew is forced to confront the reality that this facility was never meant to be breached—only survived by those who understand how it thinks. Order demands sacrifice. The lasers agree.
