I first met Dean at a friends birthday party last year. As with most people I have met through the years, he too has a story and today we dive into all of it.

We got to talking and I found out that he is into astrology, numerology as well tarot cards. But his main job is that he works for an agency that helps children in need who may be facing neglect, abuse by their caregivers or other adults they have connection to and he helps to assist the LGBT youth find forever homes or recruit foster parents or adoptive parents that identify as being part of the LGBT2q+ community as well parents who just want to adopt in general.

Jon & Ryan met online on Tinder just before the lock downs began back in 2020. Little did they know that it would be a connection so strong that it would become so deep.

Jon also talks about his coming out story and how his family took the news. And his experience with dating before meeting Ryan.

They decided that Ryan would move into Jon’s place. Once that happened the love between them started to grow. Than in 2020 something major happened….

Today I’m keeping this episode short and sweet. I have spoken about doing this Self Love Photography Series with my friend Ruth from when I had my breast implants removed. A few episodes ago.

Maissa Houri is an Arab-Canadian award-winning independent filmmaker and actress based out of Ottawa, Canada.

We get to know the very first person she met in our Rainbow Community. And how she became an ally for us. We also get to know her thoughts and opinions. And we also discuss what the acting world is like with and for LGBTQ actors.

Also what her experience has been starting out as an actress and finding that 99% of her auditions consisted of either terrorist or refugee roles and what was that like for her. We also discuss why she decided to create her own work in order to properly represent her rich Arab culture.

Currently, Maissa is the Director of Womxn’s Industry for the Digi60 Film Festival in Ottawa. Maissa is also working on the development of a new series based on Arab-Canadians, producing short films for emerging BIPOC directors and a new Instagram Live segment titled Moms After Dark where she interviews mothers working in the creative field.

Born and raised in China Fangliang has seen and experienced a lot in her life. She is a former Tv journalist at International Channel Shanghai. She’s also a Documentary Filmmaker, Videographer/Editor at Carleton University. She has worked on amazing stories travelling to make these stories a reality to the world.

I first met her years ago when we both crossed paths doing a mini documentary about my life with a few students at Carleton University. From there I was part of a video series she’s done called Identity Blossoming and a mini videography for a bit for CBC News. And we have remained friends ever since.

Steevie is not your typical tattoo artist, he’s caring, a real gem and an ally to the rainbow community. I first met Steevie through someone I was seeing briefly back in 2017. He told me about his work and his shop Knux Studio located at 135 Bank Street Ottawa. I was looking for a custom piece and we came up with a stunning pin up arm piece. I’m still stopped and asked about it today.

He has been tattooing for years and than finally opened up his dream shop. He has given new and upcoming artists a place to grow as well has even taken on new tattoo apprentices.
