TransUnion takes on consumer fraud, offerings for telecoms market, Podcast, Consumers are looking for help to mitigate these attacks
Phishing, vishing, SMSishing. “One third of all consumers are recognizing multiple fraud attacks every single week,” says Dan Carella head of TransUnion’s tele-communications and energy vertical. “It could be through voice, with spam calls. It could be through SMS and text, and it could be through email.” Over 50% of consumers are experiencing similar attacks, at least once per quarter. “Consumers are looking for help to mitigate these attacks.” Carella tells us that carriers, major technology companies (that own, for example a browser), ISPs and device OEMs, are the four key places consumers are looking for leadership on this issue.

Carella discusses the TransUnion collection of products that coalesce around the company’s approach to provide a “Tru picture of each person”. TruContact, TruValidate are among a set of seven solutions that can be used by entperise and business customers in their outreach communication, or even as a white label opportunity to be sold as services to consumers, by the telcos. The market is ready made, with consumers already looking to telcos as a place to mitigate the fraud attempts, they are experiencing and by business customers, eager to be able to make successful trusted contact with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
