Tranzcendent Outlook

In this inspiring episode of the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast, I sit down with 13-year-old Taylor Gonzalez, the 2026 Junior Miss Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County!

Taylor is an incredible young woman with a bright future, and this conversation gives us a chance to learn more about her personality, passions, goals, and experiences.

Taylor shared her plans for starting high school next year at Bullard-Havens Technical High School, along with her excitement about staying active in sports. She revealed her top three favorite sports and talked about her plans to continue participating in athletics during high school.

Looking further ahead, Taylor has an exciting goal for life after high school: she wants to join the U.S. Air Force and learn how to fly an airplane! Her determination and adventurous spirit are truly inspiring.

Of course, we couldn't have a conversation with Taylor without talking about one of her favorite subjects — Puerto Rican food! Taylor says arroz y gandules is hands down the best dish, especially when it's made by her grandmother.

Taylor also reflected on her experience participating in the Cultural Pageant. She described it as a wonderful experience where she learned a lot and had the opportunity to meet many great people.

And her advice to other young ladies considering participating in a pageant? Go for it! Taylor encourages young women to try things they're interested in, take chances, and explore their passions.

In this episode of the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Nerushka Lopez, Miss Puerto Rico 2026 for the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County, for a conversation about culture, confidence, dreams, and the journey that brought her to the pageant stage.

Nerushka shared her passion for modeling and her goal of one day becoming a marine biologist, showing that her ambitions extend far beyond the crown. We also talked about her love for Puerto Rican music, her connection to Puerto Rico, and how excited she is for her next trip to the island. Her first visit was only four days, so she's definitely looking forward to spending more time visiting family, exploring and experiencing Puerto Rico!

Nerushka also opened up about her favorite part of the pageant experience: the practices. For her, the preparation was about much more than getting ready for the competition. It helped her build confidence, step outside of her comfort zone, and create meaningful friendships along the way.

What does it take to rise above your circumstances and dedicate your life to helping others do the same?In this powerful episode of the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast, I sit down with Sheron Green, a recently retired State of Connecticut Juvenile Probation Services Regional Manager, whose life story is a testament to resilience, purpose, and servant leadership.Born and raised in Father Panik Village in Bridgeport, Connecticut—once described as the most dangerous public housing project in the country—Sheron refused to let her environment define her future. Despite growing up surrounded by poverty, scarcity, and the challenges of her father's drug addiction, she persevered through college, became a young mother at 20, and built an extraordinary career in public service.Sheron began her career with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families before transitioning to Adult Probation. Realizing her true passion was working with young people, she became a Juvenile Probation Officer, eventually rising through the ranks to Supervising Probation Officer and ultimately Regional Manager of the State of Connecticut's Juvenile Probation Services before retiring after decades of impactful leadership.During our conversation, we discuss:• Growing up in Father Panik Village• Overcoming scarcity and generational challenges• Her father's battle with addiction• Becoming a mother at 20• Building a meaningful career serving youth• Leadership principles and strategies• Raising her own children• Youth advocacy and mentoring• Life after retirement• Defining success through serviceOne of the most powerful moments of our conversation came when Sheron shared her philosophy on leadership:"If you're too big to serve, then you're too small to lead."And the message she consistently shared with the young people she served:"You have an opportunity to build YOUR story. Don't make their story yours—you have your own."Whether you're a leader, parent, mentor, educator, public servant, or someone striving to overcome adversity, Sheron's wisdom will leave you inspired and challenged to rethink what's possible. If this conversation resonates with you, please LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE to this channel for more conversations that inspire growth, resilience, and purpose.
