Sometimes our societal conditioning kicks in hard and we believe the only way to work remotely is to find an employer who offers this kind of work and still work full-time, climbing that corporate ladder. That doesn't have to be the case. If you are seeking remote work to support your travel dreams, there are other options out there that will give you more flexibility and time freedom.
In today's episode, we discuss two different categories of remote jobs and who may be best suited for each type.

In this episode, I continue my personal story from Season 1 and share all about the remote jobs I've held over the course of my travels. There were reasons they worked at the time and reasons I needed to move on from them. Remote jobs can be tricky in the sense that they seem ideal. Any job that is remote and allows you to travel sounds SO exciting, but that isn't reality. When the grandeur of landing the remote job wears off, you are stuck with a job that could potentially be unfulfilling if you didn't approach your job search mindfully (something we talk about at length in my upcoming course: Remote Work and How to Find It...join the waitlist below)

My guest today is Ricky Bhalla. He works in Financial Risk and Compliance. Ricky likes to feel passionate about everything he does, so upon no longer feeling excited in the business he was running, he made the decision to travel without many plans in place. He visited a travel agent, booked a ticket to South America two weeks later, and set out on a 12 month career break journey, ultimately returning home when the excitement of being on the road started to wane.

My guest today is Lerato Mogoatlhe. She is a travel writer and author of the pioneering travel memoir, Vagabond: wandering through Africa on faith. In this episode Lerato shares her story about how her 4 day trip to Accra, Ghana turned into a 3 month stint in West Africa and ultimately five years of living and traveling around the continent.
Her stories and perspective are nothing short of incredible and inspiring. She also found herself faced with one of the biggest fears travelers have: no money. Lerato shares her positive outlook, her trust in strangers, and the way you need to open yourself up to the environment you're in. I know you will be just as delighted with this episode as I am!

Sam wasn't always a full-time traveler and content creator. In fact, she worked in marketing for Canon and had those familiar feelings of wishing for more. After months and months of convincing her husband, they both left their jobs for several months of travel in Europe and South East Asia. An unfortunate accident that prevented Sam from going back to work at the end of the break was actual a blessing in disguise as she was able to monetize her blog and turn it into a full-time gig!
This episode is packed with actionable travel and blogging tips!
