If you were to ask the average person if they were patient what do you think the response would be? Ok, lets make it more personal. Ask yourself, "am I patient?". More than likely either you said "no" or you gave disclaimers before answering "yes", saying things such as "I'm patient when I've had my coffee", "I can be patient as long as my kids are acting right.", or "I'm patient." (while the people who know you the best are looking at you very oddly because they believe otherwise). Patience is more than just "waiting". It's our attitude WHILE we are waiting. Our entire lives would be completely different if we knew how to truly be patient; patient with others, and patient with ourselves. In 1979 the late Michael Jackson released his Album Off The Wall. There was a particular song with a catchy chorus called "Workin' Day and Night".  You're probably singing it in your head right now! One part of the song says "You got me workin' day and night, and I'll be workin' from sun up to midnight". How many of us can relate to that line? Studies have shown that we spend around 1/3 of our lives working. Much of our daily routines are centered around our jobs. Social media has embedded in Millennials and Gen-Zers that you have to work hard, all the time, 24/7 to make things happen. In 2 Thessalonians 3 the Bible does say that if a man doesn't work he can't eat, however, God did not intend for us to spend our entire lives bound to a time clock. When we stand before Him in judgement will any of our hustle for worldly things matter? Will He care that we worked long hours to afford a nice house, pay bills and invest in our retirement plans?
