Original Yoga and Original Christianity
Original yoga and original christianity are parallel spiritual paths. There are many references to yogic principles in the Bible. Yogananda and Kriyananda lectured and wrote about the similarities between the two philosophies.
Swami Kriyananda explains that over time, the teachings of both Christ and Krishna have become diluted and changed.
One of the most important aspects of Yogananda’s mission was to bring back the original teachings of Christ and Krishna and to show how these two teachings are really one.

Live and act in the Nature of your True Self when you relate to others and they will respond in kindness and good-will.
People can feel your energy. If you are respectful, willing, open, and complimentary, people will appreciate you.
Kriyananda dispels the commonly held belief of a far off and punishing God. He explains that God is within our very own self and describes the underlying unity of all life.
Live in the awareness of that inner Self, in the peace that can only be found within.
This talk is one in a series of 365 programs recorded for Aasta TV in India – A Way of Awakening. The 20 minute talks are based on readings from Kriyananda’s book Conversations with Yogananda

Kriyananda begins this talk by saying “The subject of creativity is much larger than music. I want this talk to embrace creativity in general, because you can be creative not only in the arts but also in your cooking and in the way you talk with people.”
There are many stories about Kriyananda’s creative process with musical composition as well as examples of how to access the superconscious mind.
He explains that you can be creative by drawing on God’s power and consciousness within you. When you want to be creative, one of the most important things is to convince yourself that you are a child of God, a child of the light and that you can do whatever you set out to do!
When you tune into the superconscious it will bring guidance into your life, such as the thought “I can.” Be solution oriented. You can’t be intuitive if your mind is passive, there has to be willpower in it.
In the audio recording of this talk, Kriyananda says the title of the talk is Music, Creativity and the Mystical Experience. We’ve retitled it becasue he speaks extensively about the role superconsciousness plays in creativity.

Mother’s Day – When we celebrate Mother’s Day it can be thought of as celebrating the Divine Mother principle in all of us.
Swami Kriyananda explains that all people can express masculine and feminine traits. It is good to have empathy for both men and women and look for divine qualities in both sexes.
When trying to understand someone, instead of just analyzing, try to feel who he or she is – put yourself in his or her shoes so to speak. Try to feel where they are coming from.

Mastering the Creative Energy involves the primary thought that God is the Doer and we are flowing with that energy.
Kriyananda offers fresh insights for bringing creativity into every day life.
He explains how to tap into the creative flow and manifest it in outward form, while remaining connected to the source of inspiration within. He also discusses the types of energy in the chakras in relation to creativity.

Master’s Mahasamadhi is a stirring talk about the moment of Yogananda’s death March 7, 1952.
Yogananda wanted to die in service to others.
He died while giving a talk at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
He was reciting the poem “My India” when he left his body.
Kriyananda talks about the inspiration and power in that moment.

“May divine consciousness be born in us so we realize that we are no longer this ego or this body, but that we are sons and daughters of the Infinite, with as much right to claim His infinite joy, as any of the great masters who ever lived.” — Swami Kriyananda
Serve God and ask Him to act through you. Keep a positive attitude and know that He is pleased with your service. God is not an angry God. We can shut Him out by imagining that he is displeased with us.
Don’t ever give up on the spiritual path. Master said, “I don’t mind you’re faults. God doesn’t mind your faults; all He wants is that you love Him.”
We are here to please God, not other people. Feel in your heart that you want to please and serve only Him.

The soul as beyond all gender, beyond all polar differences, it just is.” — Swami Kriyananda
Swami Kriyananda explains both male and female tendencies. He gives a fascinating description of the male and female principles involved in creation and in the Creator.
He says that both feminine and masculine qualities are needed to balance a person’s nature. The saints have mastered this balance. It is essential to accept who we are, either male or female. When we realize the completeness within ourselves, we will be closer to union with God.
Another very interesting topic Kriyananda discusses, is that everyone has a soul mate and how this works.

Love: Human and Divine – offer your love upward rather than outward.
You can say that human love is divine love and divine love is in human love.
There are few people who really know how to love. If you love the divine first and foremost, human love can be forthcoming.
If you can think about other people first and yourself second, you are making spiritual progress.
Life’s painful experiences help us to release our egoic pride and drop the sheathes surrounding our heart. Once softened, the heart’s natural love can flow freely through us, and we are able to love with God’s love.
