See God as the Doer and love God in all.
What binds us to this world and to our ego is the thought, “It’s mine.”
If we want freedom in this lifetime do everything for God and not our own ego and understand that nothing and no one belongs to us.

Kriyananda encourages us to develop our intuition, explaining that through the intuition, we gain access to the wisdom of the universe. In fact, it is only through the intuition that we can gain complete understanding of anything

Life with Master contains personal and compelling stories of Kriyananda’s time spent with Yogananda.
Yogananda was deeply calm and compassionate at all times and met each person on their level and gave them his consciousness.
He said, “When I am gone, only love can take my place.”
Our gratitude and fulfillment comes from the opportunity to be of service to God in one another. Put other people first, and yourself last.

Life with Master Parts One and Two – “You saw such kindness in Yogananda’s eyes, you knew he was on your side. No matter what he said, you felt this constant love and constant friendship.”
These two short talks by Swami Kriyananda were given at the Meditation Retreat at Ananda Village in March 1979.
Part One begins with the impressive and unusual circumstances that lead Swami to find Autobiography of a Yogi in a New York bookstore, take a bus to Los Angeles and become Yogananda’s disciple. He tells many stories of how it was to be with Yogananda before his passing in 1952.
Part Two was given outdoors with a symphony of crickets in the background. Swami talks about how Yogananda taught important lessons to those who were with him and gave them encouragement such as ‘Have no fear even though I’m gone. You’ll never be alone. I will guide you through Divine Mother.’

Kriyananda’s 80th birthday 5/19/2006 – reminiscing about his life in service to God and his guru. Kriyananda had just finished The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita and read from the 7th chapter, 3rd stanza “Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for spiritual perfection. And among those blessed ones who seek me, scarcely one out of many thousands perceives me as I am.”
Kriyananda tells stories about his youth, his search for truth, becoming Yogananda’s disciple and his life of service to God.
He has lectured all over the world, written over 150 books and over 400 pieces of music, but explains that he did nothing. God is the Doer.
He said, “If people’s lives have been blessed by the things I have done, then I am blessed.” “Everything in my life has been a great blessing. I am grateful for all of it, but inside I am not touched by it. And when you give me your love, I don’t feel it’s to me, it’s to Him. Anything that is loveable in me is because of something that I can transmit.”

“The search for truth that you are looking for begins with the inner search.” — Swami Kriyananda
Kriyananda gives an in depth and fascinating discussion of the nature of “truth.” Weaving in aspects of his own search for truth as a young man, he shows that truth is something much deeper than mere facts. It can only be found by inner experience. We can all begin to experience the truth residing in our own true Self. We do it by deepening our connection with God and raising our level of consciousness

The importance of renouncing ego and becoming one with God is paramount. All people have a common goal: to realize that there is no separation between us and God.
We don’t renounce anything by renouncing ego. We gain everything that is God’s. It’s the worldly people who are renunciates, because they have renounced God in exchange for worldly things that in the end, give nothing back. God will give you everything He has if you bring Him into your life.

How to Work With Your Emotions
This talk describes how to work with your emotions in a way that creates greater harmony and inner freedom. Kriyananda clarifies what it means to truly live from our center and how we can work with our emotions in a way that creates a greater sense of harmony and inner freedom.
Kriyananda explains that there is a big difference between calm feeling and restless emotion. Emotions – both good and bad – keep us bound to duality and prevent us from seeing things as they really are. Calm feeling is a reflection of our true essence and has no opposite. Kriyananda explains that Patanjali’s aphorism, “Yoga is the neutralization of the waves of feeling,” when rightly understood, leads to the kind of inner joy and freedom that is unaffected by outer circumstance.
At the end of this talk there are three questions and answers that address common issues: how to know the difference between suppressing an emotion and transcending it; the appropriateness of frankness; how diet can affect our emotions.

How to Use Your Emotions for Your Highest Good – if you can you get to the center of an emotion or feeling, and really accept it for what it is, suddenly you discover that it’s gone.
Part 2 – Questions
Swami asked for questions at the end of his talk. We made the questions a separate MP3 for your convenience.
Here is a sample question: Would you talk about the difference between emotion and feeling?
Answer: Emotion is agitated or ruffled feeling. Emotion is feeling and reacting, instead of just acting. You say something and I react to it, I like it or I don’t like it – that’s emotion. Taking it inside and feeling, and realizing well, what you said was right, or was not right, that’s not a reaction, that’s being centered, it’s being calm. That kind of feeling is good.
