Laurence Luckinbill's career on stage and screen was filled with high-risk choices that often led to great reward. One of those decisions just happens to be Star Trek related.
Trek fans know Mr. Luckinbill as Sybok from "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier," where he donned the pointy ears to play Spock's brother. We learn about how he got the role, his thoughts on who the character is and why he is a more complicated villain than you might believe, working with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, and why the much-maligned fifth movie is better than you remember.
We also learn about growing up in Arkansas and how he found the theater, lessons from George Kernodle and Uta Hagen, insight into his "Great Americans" one-man play series, and a deep dive into his multi-year role in the milestone play and film, "The Boys in The Band," a breakout show for LGBTQ culture during a pivotal time in gay rights, of which he is the last surviving cast member.
This might be one of the most in-depth interviews with this legendary performer on YouTube, so get ready for a deep dive into this actor who has long earned his time in the spotlight.

The first company to tackle Star Trek action figures was Mego Toys, innovating new designs and production methods that kept their products affordable while creating enduring memories. However, despite their huge success with Star Trek, things behind the scenes with the company slowly fell apart. Paul Clarke, better known to toy collectors as Dr. Mego, visits the show to discuss the origin story of Mego Toys, how its founder, Marty Abrams, began to pick up licensed properties before other companies, making "World's Greatest Superheroes" figures with both Marvel and DC Comics characters, his road to Star Trek in the 1970s through "Planet of The Apes," and the secrets behind their Trek toys, including whether the figures were based on TOS or the animated series, how the playsets were made, and the answers to unsolved Trek toy mysteries.
Plus, the controversial circumstances that caused Mego to shut down in 1982, how they resurrected the company in 2018, the true story of why Mego didn't make "Star Wars" action figures, how Marty helped bring Transformers to America, why Trek toys are so hard to sell in 2024 and what Playmates did wrong with their most recent attempt, and what the future holds for Mego in 2024 and beyond.

Kevin and Dan Hageman, the executive producers of "Star Trek: Prodigy," visit Trek Untold to discuss the past, present, and future of this animated series. The showrunners discuss the death and resurrection of Prodigy on Netflix, writing time travel stories that kids and adults can understand, the new addition of Michaela Dietz to the crew, working with Kate Mulgrew, and if they'd want to show-run an Admiral Janeway live-action series, balancing fan service versus telling the story while bringing in younger fans, who is the true audience for this series, and what it will take to make a third season happen.
"Star Trek: Prodigy" Season 2 premieres on Netflix in the United States on July 1, 2024, alongside Season 1.

Christine Harnos played Tessa Omond in the "Star Trek: Voyager" episode "Timeless," which is notable for being the 100th episode of the series. Harnos joins Trek Untold to discuss her role in Trek, along with more from her life and career, and why she always follows her heart to guide her every step of the way.
Christine talks about going from modeling into acting, booking her first gig in the unusual Disney film about teens rescuing Navy SEALs aptly titled "The Rescue," playing Kaye Faulkner in "Dazed and Confused," her seven-year stint on ER as Jennifer Greene alongside show-husband Anthony Edwards, an obscure 80s comedy called "Cold Dog Soup" with an unbelievable underhanded backstory, and being part of controversial animation legend Ralph Bakshi's only live-action directorial film, "Cool and The Crazy."
From there, we beam into our Trek talk to discuss "Timeless," including working with Garrett Wang, Robert Picardo, and Robert Beltran (who she performed with before this episode), being directed by Levar Burton, the challenges of her role and character, and what she recalls from the experience.

Paul Eiding played Ambassador Loquel on the seventh season Star Trek TNG episode, "Liaisons," but if you grew up in the 80s and 90s, you know him better as Perceptor from "Transformers," Colonel Roy Campbell in the Metal Gear Solid video game series, and Grandpa Max Tennyson in "Ben 10," among hundreds of other voiceover roles in cartoons, anime, and games. Besides telling us about his time in Trek, Paul explains how his time in the army led him towards acting, being a clown and improv performer, what he learned from Dudley Riggs' Brave New Workshop, and how a chance meeting with Gordon Hunt changed the course of his career and brought him into the world of animation. Plus, his time with Betty White on "The Golden Girls," "Martial Law" with Sammo Hung, delivering the line in the 1986 Transformers movie that broke a generation of kids' hearts, his unusual time working on the "Toxic Crusaders" cartoon, the most meaningful role he ever played, and performing with Anna Nicole Smith in "Skyscraper.

Daphne Ashbrook had a very memorable appearance on the Star Trek DS9 episode, "Melora," playing the titular character in an episode that examined physical disabilities through a 90's sci-fi lens. Today, the episode is still discussed and debated, and this ensign's actress is ready to explain her side of the story, as well as tales from other productions ranging from modern films, period pieces, and a few things timey-wimey.
Daphne tells us about wearing the Elaysian makeup and body prosthetics, navigating the tricky sets in an electric wheelchair, flying in the air on wires while kissing Alexander Siddig, and her take on the plot and intentions of "Melora," and how she views it through a modern perspective. Plus, her secret audition for a Star Trek movie, working with David Hasselhoff on "Knight Rider," the incredible stunts she did on an obscure made-for-TV movie, her trio of “Murder, She Wrote” appearances loaded with Star Trek alumni (as well as Florence Henderson), and behind-the-scenes stories from her starring role in the American “Doctor Who” movie with Paul McGann. While his time on-screen might have been brief, Vadia Potenza is one of the few actors to play Spock in Star Trek history. Today, his journey through Hollywood brought him to a different profession that can make or break a film or TV show.
Potenza is best known to Trekkies as one of the young Spocks in "Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock," and has fond memories of meeting and being directed by Leonard Nimoy, working with Robin Curtis and Lee Remmick, and what it was like to become a Vulcan. We also learn about some of his childhood gigs, including "Father Dowling Mysteries," why he moved away from performing, where life took him as an adult in directing and editing, and a second chance at playing Spock in an unexpected film.
