Wake Forest Women’s Soccer Head Coach Tony da Luz might be the most interesting man in Deactown. In his 28th season guiding the Demon Deacons, he’s amassed more than 300 wins & collected 11 wins over top-5 teams, including 2 this season! But it’s the path da Luz charted from the west coast to the east coast that might draw the most unique fascination.

From aiding in missile building after staring at San Diego (yes, really), to moonlighting in construction while guiding a first-time Toreros women’s program, da Luz & family have carved out a home in Winston-Salem. He’s established Wake Forest as an annual player in the ACC race and has remained energized throughout the everchanging landscape of intercollegiate athletics. And maybe more than ever since his arrival in 1997, the Deacs are a legitimate national championship contender in 2024.
