Macy Pate’s dream had always been to attend and play golf at Wake Forest. There were many who thought that goal may have been overly ambitious at first, but that all changed after Pate rewrote the state record books while at Reagan High School. The 2024 ACC Freshman of the Year is preparing for the ACC Women’s Golf Championship this week in Greensboro after recently competing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Pate reflects on these experiences and more, including how her family helped ignite the flame that’s turned her into one of the top collegiate female golfers. The Demon Deacon sophomore also details the chemistry & camaraderie that makes her Wake Forest team so special.
