Trial by Pilot

*WARNING* We discuss some very sensitive topics in this episode, including sexual assault and rape. Please skip this one if you think that will upset you.

This week we're joined by two special guests, and only one of them is a cricket! We discuss the pilot to Unbelievable, a Netflix miniseries exploring the rape of a teen and the subsequent investigation that attempts to uncover the truth. It's a heavy one, folks.

Every network and streaming service is looking for the next Game of Thrones. Could Carnival Row, Amazon's new fantasy series starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, be the one? Maybe...if you liked season seven.

This week we take a look at the pilot to The Righteous Gemstones, a new HBO sitcom about a televangelist family starring John Goodman, Danny McBride, and Adam DeVine. Bill also defends Dark on Netflix and then we attempt to talk about our favorite church memories but end up talking about all the times we were scolded in church.

This week we discuss Dark, the German-language Netflix series about the mysterious disappearance of two children. Listen as Bill corrects the opinions of his co-hosts!

This week we talk about Amazon's new hit series The Boys, based on the popular comic by Garth Ennis. We also discuss superpowers and are unfortunately unable to avoid singing THAT Deniece Williams tune.

It's recap time! We play a little canceled/renewed with our most recent batch of shows, discuss our favorite series from the past few months (Chernobyl!), and talk about the second seasons of Killing Eve and Barry.

This week we discuss the first episode of Another Life, a new Netflix sci fi space drama. If you've ever asked yourself how close you could get to a star if you had a bubble shield, this show has the answer!

We take a look at the pilot to the 2011 CBS crime drama Person of Interest. This is another listener-recommended show, but it also happens to have Trial by Pilot co-host Elizabeth in the pilot! Well, she would have been in it if she had worn more sensible shoes that day!

This week we take a look at the pilot to Los Espookys, a new Spanish-language comedy on HBO. Bill and Elizabeth also chit chat about horror movies, Halloween costumes, and Scream scares.

This week we take a look at Trinkets, the new Netflix coming of age drama about a trio of shoplifters. The biggest crime committed is the theft of thirty minutes of our time. STORE PERSON IS NOT AMUSED.
