Absentee (mail-in) ballots start going out September 4 to those who have requested them, and the NC Board of Elections web site is about to take those requests online, and let you track your request and submission.

Note that it takes pretty much an hour to get to that topic. We waste that time talking to our fan (not our biggest fan… just out fan, Kevin Flanagan, one of the hosts of Drinking Liberally Raleigh. Yeah, that’s how he wanted us to identify him.

Local activist Ted Corcoran will be our guest on Sunday’s live show, talking about organizing protests (and the usual ‘whatever’).

In July, Ted traveled to Portland to see for himself what was going on as Federal troops ‘guarded’ a courthouse and clashed with protesters. He gave a talk at Tuesdays with Tillis describing and showing video of that event. That will be good background material for our conversation on Sunday.

Chase Barnhill is a rising Senior at NC State, and part of the Visibility Group (think PR, but better) of the NCPRIG STUDENTS. That’s a non-partisan activist group, part of a statewide, then nationwide group of people active in public policy. Chase is specifically working on getting young people to register to vote, and of course we’ll talk about that for a hot minute. We’ll also learn about going back to class amid the pandemic. And we’ll have just a little too much fun.
