Morgon is catching up with his athlete Angie Jackson. Angie is committed, passionate and has an infectious personality. As she puts it, she is 51, Mimi of 2, and just a black girl from Philly trying to make a difference, and she is now an Ironman and official Crabbie after dancing down the red carpet in Maryland. But her jump into the jellyfish filled “chop tank” was prefaced by 2 years of training and a choice to beat her crippling fear of the black line in the pool that was the deep end. She can tell you about that and what she has planned next!

Never give up! That’s the message that postal carrier, Cory Rose, delivers. Cory discusses with Morgon how he found his way out of the grips of an eating disorder into the sport of triathlon. In his first sprint triathlon his 5k run was faster than his swim, but that didn’t define his identity as a triathlete. His “never give up” spirit helped him overcome his struggle with his bodily image, get in front of his disorder and achieve success as a triathlete. He discovered he was enough, and he believed it.

Evelyn Darbut is a working mom, wife and race director and she is here to tell you that failure can be a positive thing. She explains to Morgon how excuses are your way of protecting yourself. By saying no or I can’t, yes you may get to avoid failure, but you stay mediocre. At 5:15 every morning she says yes to herself. Let that fear of failure be your strength and say yes to yourself one time. Is it because you can’t, or because you won’t? Evelyn is here to help you find a way! No excuses!
