When Maria joined the Tribe she was finally ready to take a 2 year business idea to the next level. In her application for the Tribe she told us that the one thing stopping her from doing this thus far was how little guidance she had on what resources would help her and the little knowledge she had of how to tap into the relevant network. We have one last big reveal for Maria – which we share at the very end of the episode. I really had no idea 12 weeks ago if this reveal would be possible before the end of the Tribe, and I’m so happy that it is.
12 weeks ago we asked two bold souls from The Startup Tribe to join us in our first ever podcast series. We had no idea then what these aspiring entrepreneurs would achieve- if they would achieve anything at all. Today marks the close of the Tribe and our final episode of Tribe Tales: Entrepreneurship. And I feel totally chuffed to say that both Armin and Maria have seriously nailed it.

When Armin joined the Tribe he was full of ideas, but totally clueless as to how to build momentum on any of them. He almost didn’t say yes to being a part of the series because he was so afraid that if he failed – not only would he have to deal with that himself but the whole world would know about it as well. Looking back on these past 3 months with Armin, it’s unreal to see just far from the truth this is. His perspective on failure has drastically changed and his confidence has sky rocketed as a result of it.

In Part 2, Maria has taken the handbrake off. She has some big news to share with us that will really changed the game for her and her startup.
We’re so close to finishing the Tribes now that leaders, Ben and Henry agreed it was time to slow it down and have some fun. So the Startup Tribe are off to HomeFarm this evening- a beautiful glamping site just a tube ride away from central London. They are going to kick it back, share some stories and just enjoy each other. Because of this, both Armin and Maria join me by phone.

In Part 1, thanks to all the AB testing Armin has been doing lately, he now has a very clear picture of his customer demographic, which is going to serve him very well now that he is moving more into marketing Vitamin Buddy.

This week in the Startup Tribe we’re diving into different kinds of funding available to entrepreneurs. The key for any is quality. Don’t make this an impulse decision. Put time and effort into making your campaign epic, and the better your results will be.
In Part 1 Armin has been busy! There are lots of updates with Vitamin Buddy this week, plus a slightly annoying challenge that has interrupted the process for him so we spend some time talking this out.
We didn’t catch Maria this week, but you’ve got to listen to our episode with her next week because she has some huge news for us- news that will see her shooting forwards with her startup journey.

With only four weeks left in the Tribe, today we’re consolidating everything we’ve learnt so far. For Armin in Part 1, this meant reflecting on everything that he has achieved in such a short space of time, and getting clearer on the decisions he needs to make in the final stretch with the Tribe.

The startup community is far more generous and supportive than you might imagine. Those who have done well in their own startups have done so because they have been bold enough to use that community to ask for help and support when they need it. Which is why this week in The Startup Tribe we have allocated each accountability group their very own entrepreneurial guru to mentor them through to the end of the Tribe.
In part 2, Maria and I talk about the importance of being open and vulnerable as a form of storytelling – particularly when trying to get new customers on board with your product.
