In the ninth episode of Tribute2Happiness podcast I connect with Teresa Quinlan, coach, consultant and podcaster
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the intersection where cognition and emotion meet. It makes possible our capacity for resilience, motivation, empathy, reasoning, stress management, communication, and our ability to read and navigate a wide range of social situations and conflicts.
Emotional Intelligence often matters more than IQ, and when cultivated, affords one the opportunity to realize a more fulfilled and happy life.
Teresa has been in leadership roles from a young age. Whether those roles were leading herself, or leading others, each of them required emotional intelligence skills. She was 24 when she understood just how much, and that's when the tables began to turn.
What is demanded by those we lead, is our EQ. When we develop those skills, talent quotient (TQ) grows exponentially. This has led to her personal brand:
There is no place that this is more evident than in leadership.
She builds Emotionally Intelligent Organizations because she is an advocate for emotionally intelligent leadership that paves the way for organizations that are human first, human centered, human focused.
It is only when we can manage the whole of our humanity that we can tap into the excellence that exists within each of us.
