Would it be okay for evil in this world to never go unpunished? Would God actually be good if he allowed them to go unpunished? If God didn't punish these acts, could we actually trust him? By looking at the past and recounting God's actions, we can praise him for his faithfulness. What we find is that as we praise him for the past, our trust in him grows for his future faithfulness.

We have come to the final part of our series on the Holy Spirit. Through this series, we've looked at numerous ministries of the Spirit as well as three vital truths of his work in our lives. Today, we look at three other vital truths and then consider what 1 Thessalonians 5:19 actually means when we're commanded to not quench the Spirit.

The climax of the Red Sea crossing comes when Israel safely passes through, while the Egyptians are utterly destroyed. Just like vital signs that tell you about the person's physical health, there are vital ministries that the Holy Spirit performs that allow you to gauge your spiritual health. Today we look at three of six of those important ministries: Pointing people to Jesus; Developing a maintaining a healthy prayer life; and Walking by the Spirit to effectively fight sin. If you were to measure these ministries of the Spirit in your life today, would you be considered spiritually healthy or sick?

We continue Exodus 14 with the Israelites standing on the edge of the Red Sea, but with the Egyptian army quickly coming upon them. At this moment, God delivers them with this well-known miracle. Why is this miracle so significant? Additionally, why should we believe the miraculous parts of this event? And should we actually believe that the entire Egyptian army (including Pharoah) pursued? This is a fascinating account which has captured minds and inspired art for millennia, but is this event applicable to us today?
