As we kickoff a new sermon series looking at the book of Ecclesiastes, we learned that everything under the sun is 'smoke' or fleeting but Jesus came from beyond the sun to give us hope.

Continuing in our study through the book of Mark we looked at the reality that Jesus uses the church to make faithful followers and our message is the same as the original disciples - repentance coated in compassion and dependent on God.

Leading up to Christmas Jordan talked about Jesus as, not just the baby in the manger, but as God in the flesh. He is the one worthy to open the scroll and to bring both judgement and redemption.

This week Jordan covered the scandal of Jesus' birth - that He was born, not in a mess, but among messy people - sinners like all of us. Although He appeared weak he came to move heaven & earth to show God's mercy and grace personified.

This week learning from Jesus' encounter with demons, Jordan taught us that although people are created in God's image, the function of sin and forces of evil desire to distort and destroy that image; however, drastic transformation occurs when we are changed and saved by God.

This week Jordan taught through the story of Jesus calming the storm. We were encouraged that Jesus saves by His Word and his desire for us is to have restful faith in Him. If the wind and seas obey Him, and they do, then nothing is out of His control.

This week Jordan covered the mysterious work of God, talking about how God works in His own timing and anywhere He pleases.
