This morning we are beginning a new sermon series through the book of Nehemiah. When our hearts break at the brokenness we see in ourselves and our world, we’re compelled to lift our voices to God in prayer. In his grace, God hears and responds. The book of Nehemiah reveals to us how God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things when we seek to align our purpose and plans with God’s purpose and plans. Even in unexpected circumstances and unanticipated timing, God is faithful to his promises, and we can trust him no matter what.

This morning we're launching into a new year with prayer and fasting, seeking the face of God for the will of God and all that he desires for us in this coming year. Thanks for joining us for this unique service and journey as we exalt God Almighty together.

This advent season we'll celebrate the generosity of God in sending His One in Only Son by looking at the generosity of Jesus throughout his life in how he "loved the least of these" (Matt. 25:40). Jesus gives generously of his time with those deemed unimportant, gives grace to the unholy, offers steadfast love to the unlovable, and speaks truth to the unworthy. This Christmas season we're invited to live like Jesus - giving generously of ourselves to others for the Glory of God.
