This week, we continue our new series, "Who Am I?". Throughout this series, we look at what it means to truly be created in the image of God, our creator. It’s too easy to look at the state of humanity and fall into the trap of thinking that we will never live up to the standards God desires, so why even try? The reality is that each of us is a beloved child of God who is preciously made and beautiful to behold. We find throughout Genesis examples of God creating and redeeming His creation. Certainly, we are also recipients of God's redeeming grace.
This week we look at the story of the first brothers, Cain and Abel. We will learn that God desires that our relationships with others are not based on comparing ourselves to them, but based on growing mutual love for one another. We are called to be our brother's brother, not our brother's keeper.
