Trinity Community Church

Mark continues our sermon series in the gospel of John, "Connected"

Jesus continues to prepare His disciples for His soon departure by reminding them that it is to their advantage that He goes away so that the Holy Spirit could come and not only be with them but also live in them. The Holy Spirit is the guide helping Christ-followers in all generations to understand the truth, know what to do, learn how to pray, be comforted in grief, stay in the right relationship with God, and ultimately to bring glory to Jesus.

Join us as Derrick shares what Jesus taught his disciples about persecution, and how we can prepare ourselves and our families for when hard times come.

Jesus spent an ample amount of time encouraging His disciples that they are going to be well cared for even when He leaves to return to His Father. He then turns His focus toward the cross and preparing His followers for the inevitability of persecution that they will also face. It is accurate to say that believers in Jesus Christ will suffer persecution because of their relationship with Christ. What is left to be determined is whether or not we will respond in the same way that Jesus responded when He faced trouble based on who He was and what He stood for.

Failure in living the Christian life is ultimately a failure to follow Christ. How can one become fruitful as a Christian? What happens when we truly learn to let Christ live in us and us to live in him?

In this powerful metaphor, Jesus describes the pathway to fruitfulness for His disciples. We must be firmly connected to Jesus, who is the vine and the source of our very life in God. We will face times of pruning when the Father uses circumstances in this life to optimize our ability to produce fruit. When we recognize the fact that we are in Christ and Christ is in us the benefits are indescribable.

As shocking as it must have been for His disciples to hear that Jesus was leaving them very soon, it was equally comforting for them to know that help was on the way in the person of the Holy Spirit. He would comfort, encourage, and remind them of the truth that Jesus had taught them. He would dwell with them as Jesus did, but He would also dwell in them, empowering them and equipping them to obey Christ’s commandments. Tyler shares from John 14:15-24 how Jesus and the Holy Spirit enable us to live in a loving relationship with God.

This week we are beginning a brand new sermon series called “Connected”. We will be studying Jesus’ words to His disciples before He endured the suffering and death that He has promised would occur before He was raised from the dead on the third day. His words are full of life and hope, along with warnings concerning difficult days ahead. The bottom line is that we must remain connected to Jesus to be fruitful in this life, despite whatever trouble may come.

After the sermon, Tyler sits down with Neil to talk about the direction the Lord is leading Neil in this season. To learn more about Neil's Ministry, check out https://neilsilverberg.com/

Clem Ferris shares in this important message vital core assumptions that help guide us in the all-important ministry of prophecy when it comes to a global perspective. First, God is Sovereign over all. Second, His kingdom is larger than the kingdoms of this world and He isn’t singularly motivated by a nation’s politics. Third, He wants to partner with us by empowering us to be witnesses to all nations.

Tyler shares what the Lord has been showing the Elder Team, and the new direction for our church this upcoming year (spoilers: it's really awesome, and it's gonna be good for the entire community).

In this service, there is a challenge given to not get pulled into the political fray but instead to trust and represent Christ as the ultimate King. The message that follows is an in-depth look at the parable of the Good Samaritan. This year we believe that instead of letting people know how great TCC is, we will let the community know how much Jesus cares about them! We finished the service with some practical steps that we will take as a church to carry out what we feel like God is saying at this time.
