  • The Ripple Effect - Seeing God's Grace

Pastor Neil Silverberg teaches on the book of Acts in his sermon "Seeing God's Grace".

Acts 11:23 "When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose,"

In this message, we see two powerful examples of the grace of God at work in the early church. One such case is Antioch becoming the first church where Gentiles and Jews worshipped together. The other was when Peter was miraculously released from prison by angels and reported to a disbelieving group of believers who were praying for his freedom. The hope is that all of us as modern-day followers of Christ would be looking for signs of the grace of God at work around us and that we would be willing to be used by God in some way to be a sign of the same to others.

This message is part of our series "The Ripple Effect." The purpose of this series is to learn more about the life of Jesus and the story of the early church through the writings of Luke. Having looked at some of the highlights of the Gospel of Luke earlier this year, we now will turn our attention to his 2nd writing, the book of Acts. This book follows the history of the Holy Spirit’s influence on the early church and the beginning of the spreading of the Gospel to the corners of the earth. The book of Acts ends abruptly because the mission of the church is ongoing and is to be continued in our day and time by the power of the Holy Spirit.
