Just as the Living God delivered Moses from the den of the lions - sure and certain death, our Living God, Jesus delivers us from the den of sin, death, and the devil.

In killing Goliath, David foreshadows Jesus' victory over sin, death, and the devil. Jesus is our ultimate champion! Because He has already won the battle for us, we get to follow His commands without having to earn anything.

The Passover foreshadowed another time that God's vengeance would pass over His people. On the cross, the blood of the lamb covered our sins. And those who put their faith in the Lamb of God, Jesus, are no longer sentenced to death, but are passed over from death to life.

God provided for Abraham on Mount Moriah. There God provided a ram to sacrifice in Isaac's place. Around 1,500 years later, in nearly the same place, God provided His only son Jesus to sacrifice in our place.

The most important thing that we can do as Children of God is to share the Good News of Jesus into our families and our communities. Just as the rains water the earth and bring life, so too does God's Word go forth and bring life out of death.
