As we continue our study in Matthew and near the end of the story, we come to three episodes where choices are made - and they aren't good choices.  In fact, it's just a sad, sad story.  But thankfully, the story doesn't end here...

Here we get a glimpse into the humanity of the Lord Jesus through this intimate scene between the Father and the Son in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Jesus turns our attention from the destruction of Jerusalem to His 2nd Coming.  This day and hour of his coming will be unknown.  We are called to live faithfully as we wait.  

Jesus continues ministering to His disciples on the Mount of Olives preparing them for the coming judgment upon Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple.

In this difficult passage, Jesus continues to teach his disciples concerning the coming destruction of the city and the temple.  Jesus faithfully shepherds his followers warning them of the coming judgment. 

O the glorious truth of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus! 

While Jesus certainly speaks of his 2nd Coming, He does at the end of chapter 24 and chapter 25.  Here, though, in the Olivet Discourse, His attention is turned toward the end of the Jewish age and the destruction of the temple and of Jerusalem.  He prepares His disciples for what will take place in the next 40 years leading to the judgment of 70 AD.
