In this 13th week of our presbyterian polity class we go over the old school, new school controversy.

The truth of this passage is very simple: God is with his people, God is Shalom.

God’s gracious rebukes compel us to align our narratives with his narrative.

Prepare yourself for death by trusting in your rock and redeemer who saves all who call on him from their enemies even the great and powerful foe that is the last to be defeated.

Do not run away from the Lord. You will not outrun him. Run toward him and seek his friendship. It is in the safety of his covenant faithfulness that we will find the terror of his wrath to be for us and not against us.

In this 12th week of our presbyterian polity class we pause to think about ordination.

May the people who are called by his name truly be counted friends of God, for it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. But how blessed it is to know the King is in our corner.

What are we even doing here? We are hearing and tasting again the Word of Christ which strengthens our weak faith and helps our unbelief.

God has not forgotten his special people.

There is freedom not only from the guilt of sin but also the bondage to sin.
