  • Alberta Sand & Gravel Association - Represent Promote Educate

    Friends in the Industry -

Whenever there comes an opportunity to stand up for what is right, I believe we need to take it, especially if it helps protect others. Protection in regard to safety, but also in how we plan projects to help ensure they are a success. Far too often in the transportation industry, we are expected to face situations where there feels like no protection is in place, and no one is advocating to fix the issues at hand.

This is why I am excited about today’s episode, as I have a conversation with John Ashton, executive director with the Alberta Sand & Gravel Association, and Aurora Beekman, operations manager AMI Rockchain.

Throughout our conversation, you will see how the Alberta Sand & Gravel Association is advocating for those in our industry, and I strongly recommend getting connected with them, especially if you are looking to haul aggregate in Alberta.

  • Part 2 - A conversation w/ Morgan Beaudry - Road Ahead Counselling

    Friends in the Industry -

In today's episode, I am excited as this is Part 2 of my conversation with Morgan Beaudry, owner of Road Ahead Counselling about professional drivers' trauma and the need to provide a safe place for them to share their stories.

I am excited as this interview is part of our We Got This - Mental Health series, and is part 2 of 2 with Morgan. This series is dedicated to exploring Mental Health. I will be interviewing a number of professionals that will help us navigate what exactly is Mental Health, and offer guidance on actionable steps we can take each day to protect and ultimately strengthen our own mental health. *disclaimer - the purpose of our series is to educate, encourage, and empower and to not prevent or discourage anyone from seeking medical attention.

Throughout Morgan's journey, she has learned the importance of sharing your story, especially after a traumatic experience takes place, such as a motor vehicle collision. Far too often does the conversation stop after someone hears "the driver was not deemed at fault" after the collision, but there is so much more to it than that.

Learn more about Knights of the Road, an initiative Morgan lead to help professional drivers share their story after dealing with traumatic collisions.

    Learn more: https://knightsoftheroad.ca

Morgan recently opened Road Ahead Counselling, a practice that puts you in the driver's seat and, together, you will explore past and present factors complicating your life. Morgan uses techniques from narrative to gestalt to genograms, together you can find a path that moved you toward who and what and how you want to be.

With person-centered, solution-focused, and goal-driven methods, you'll work together to find a way through the pain, confusion, trauma, and uncertainty. Together, you and Morgan will leverage the tools and gifts you already have to move you forward toward your short and long-term goals.

    Thank you again Morgan!
