Timmy has been a long time friend of all of us since each of us got sober, spanning over 15 years. Timmy brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, faith, and good vibes as the three of us discuss a variety of topics surrounding life and recovery. From topics such as being married to a person not in recovery, to having a blended family, to navigating early sobriety in a halfway house, and dealing with life's issues in a faith-based way. This episode has a great flow and promises to be inspiring to all levels of recovery and also those not in recovery.

On this week's episode we pay homage to all of the fathers in recovery and outside of recovery. To the stepfather's, soon to be stepfather's, father figures, and our own fathers. It is our annual Father's Day episode. Each of us go around the horn and talk about the plans we may have for this year's Father's day as well as what the ideal Father's Day looks like to us. Then we go into the things we have learned in recovery that have helped us become the fathers we are today and the attributes we look for and strive for in raising our children. We also talk about the mistakes and missteps we have made and what we have learned from them. Each of us offer a unique perspective on being that very integral role model that we call a father or father figure. 

One who loves does not seek his own advantage. Love acts the part, and anything else is hypocrisy.

Take a trip back in time this week with the boys of Trudge Report. We go back to March of 2020 when the covid pandemic hit. Each of us talk about what we were doing in our lives, our families, where we were living, and working etc. We discuss the impact that covid had on our families, ourselves, as well as the recovery community around us. How the presence of online recovery group meetings was both beneficial and detrimental. What the recovery community scene looks like today in our areas as a result of how things splintered from covid. How online influence, social media, and electronics have infiltrated the recovery world and how each of us look upon this current trend. We look at both the positive and negative sides of this and the potential lasting impacts on a broader scale.

The Trudge Report welcomes a very special guest this week. Friend of the program, Maggie York. Maggie comes to us with 17 plus years of experience, strength, and hope in recovery. Starting out in the accounting world, she makes the jump to the fashion industry, first in Chicago then to the Big Apple, before making the move to South Florida where she has a flourishing company. Maggie shares some of her most personal stories about her drinking days, getting sober, and a harrowing experience during 9/11. She was a great guest and we are all very proud to call her a friend.

We finish up the show with a brief but in-depth look at the Academy award-winning and Golden Globe award winning movie, Conclave. This movie takes an in-depth look at how a new pope is elected, the logistics that go into this process, and the politics that shouldn't, but do, play a role.

Our faith is a living thing precisely because it walks hand-in-hand with doubt. If there was only certainty and no doubt, there would be no mystery. And therefore, no need for faith.

Welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. We want to first congratulate Greg on 9 continuous years of sobriety. We also want to wish all the mothers a belated happy Mother's Day and thank you for all you do and who you are. The boys go around the horn and give a recap on their weekends and any notable events. There is some quick discussion on the NBA playoffs, who we like, and who seems dead in the water.

We transition to the recovery topic which is surrounding opinions and outside issues in our recovery groups and meetings. What topics are and are not appropriate for the recovery setting. Which of those topics help foster an atmosphere of not only recovery, but love and tolerance, while keeping in mind the guidelines of the group and the common welfare of the group. How we personally fall short in the meetings we go to and how we can be better ourselves and help hold others accountable.

Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of Trudge Report. The four of us are back in action. We do a quick check in on how everyone is doing and latest updates. Bill celebrates the big 40, Greg might have to get his toe cut off, and Corey discovers that he might be Disney royalty. We touch on a couple of trending news topics including DT superimposing his image as a pope, real life Star Wars flying vehicles, and the baseball fan who fell 20 ft over the ledge and into the outfield at the Pittsburgh Pirates game. 

We move to our recovery segment where we discuss problems that could beset the recovery group, i.e. compulsive talkers, big shotism, and bleeding deacons. How we deal with them on an individual and a group basis. Taking stock of our own missteps through the years in the recovery groups and how we can learn from them and teach others how to be better.

Antagonize any situation, and you give it power against yourself; offer mental non resistance, and it crumbles away in front of you.
