Extremely Intoxicated Woman Crashes Into a Bridge at Almost 5 TIMES LEGAL LIMIT

On November 30, 2023 around 2:30 PM, Patrolman Michael O’Mealy with the Chester Township Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a 2020 Volvo that had crashed into a bridge over the Black River on Ironia Road. He arrived on scene around 2:34 PM and noticed that the Volvo’s passenger side tire had fallen off the vehicle after it crashed into the bridge. The airbags had not deployed and the sole occupant of the vehicle was still inside. He made contact with the driver, who was identified as Kira. 
Kira told Patrolman O’Mealy that she was distracted by looking at her phone and that she thought her license was suspended due to a prior DWI. As he was speaking with Kira, he detected the odor of alcohol and noticed other signs of impairment. Patrolman Brian Lowry arrived on scene to assist around 2:44 PM. Based on her apparent head injuries, the officers decided that it would not be safe to administer field sobriety exercises.  
After she was evaluated by first responders, Kira was informed that she was being placed under arrest and that she would be taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Kira signed a consent form agreeing to a blood draw inside the ambulance rig. A consensual blood draw was administered at Morristown Medical Center and she was subsequently released to her husband pending her court appearance in the Chester Township Municipal Court. 
Her blood test results would later indicate a BAC level of 0.373% at the time of the blood draw, so her BAC level may have been around 5 times the legal limit of 0.08% at the time of the crash. Patrolman O’Mealy issued her the following summonses: Operating under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, traffic on marked lanes, use of hand-held wireless telephones, driving after driver’s license suspended/revoked, failure to possess driver registration, failure to possess driver insurance card, driving without a license, open container, and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

18-Year-Old Arrested for DWI After TOTALING Jeep at Over DOUBLE the Legal Limit

On November 23, 2023 around 12:47 AM, Patrolmen Jeremy Hackney and Matthew Wolf with the Magnolia Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a silver 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had struck a pole on N Warwick Road near Maryland Avenue. As arrived on scene around 12:52 AM, Patrolman Hackney noticed that the Jeep had sustained severe front-end damages and he observed airbag deployment inside the vehicle. He made contact with the driver of the Jeep, who was identified as 18-year-old Maegen. Maegen admitted to driving the Jeep while 18-year-old Michaela was seated inside the vehicle as her passenger.
Maegen told Patrolman Hackney that she was distracted by looking at Michaela’s phone when her boyfriend was calling, and as a result she crashed into the pole while driving northbound on N Warwick Road. As he was speaking with Maegen, he detected the odor of alcohol and noticed other signs of impairment. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Maegen was asked to perform field sobriety exercises. 
Patrolman Hackney started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During the HGN test, Patrolman Hackney observed the lack of smooth pursuit and distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation in both eyes. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Maegen did not touch heel-to-toe on each step. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test, and Maegen displayed a lack of balance while putting her foot down multiple times. 
Based on the motor vehicle accident, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Maegen was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. In order to not embarrass her in front of her friend, Patrolman Hackney decided to not place handcuffs on her. Maegen was transported to the Magnolia Police Department for further processing. The other officers stayed with the vehicle until it was towed for a mandatory 12-hour impound as required by John’s Law. 
At the Magnolia Police Department, Patrolman Hackney read her the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators, and she agreed to submit breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC of 0.19%, which was more than double the limit of 0.08% for drivers over 21 and 19 times the legal limit of 0.01% for drivers under 21. 
After she was processed, Maegen was released to her friend Michaela pending her court appearance in the Magnolia Municipal Court on December 5, 2023 after she signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf. Patrolman Hackney issued her the following summonses: Operating under the influence, operating under the influence underage, reckless driving, careless driving, and traffic on marked lanes
Court records indicate that on March 12, 2024, Maegen was found guilty of operating under the influence. She was required to use an ignition interlock device for 3 months, spend 12 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center, and pay a total of $640 in fines. The other 4 citations were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. Court records also indicate that on April 5, 2024, Maegen was ticketed again for using a hand-held wireless telephone in Lawnside, New Jersey.

Drunk Woman EMBARRASSES Herself During DWI Arrest in Holmdel Township, NJ

On August 17, 2023 around 7:50 PM, Patrolman Daniel Bowden with the Holmdel Township Police Department observed a 2022 Nissan speeding and being driven in an erratic manner on Route 34 northbound near Roberts Road. He activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver did not immediately pull over. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle eventually pulled over on Route 34 northbound near Wellington Place in Aberdeen Township. Patrolman Bowden made contact with the driver of the Nissan, who was identified as Alexandra. 
Patrolman Bowden called for backup, and Patrolman Kevin Gallogly, Patrolman Jonathan Sciuto, and Sergeant Michael Moore arrived on scene shortly afterwards. Patrolman Jose Veliz with the neighboring Aberdeen Township Police Department also assisted the officers during this traffic stop. Alexandra refused to exit the vehicle despite being told to do so numerous times, so she had to be forcibly removed from the vehicle. The officers dragged her towards the grass, instructed her to sit down, and asked her where she was coming from. Alexandra informed them that she was heading home from Colts Neck, but denied consuming alcohol before operating a motor vehicle. 
Based on his suspicion of impairment, Patrolman Bowden asked Alexandra to perform field sobriety exercises. Alexandra refused to perform these exercises, and he walked over to confer with Sergeant Moore. Sergeant Moore agreed with Patrolman Bowden that she would have to be placed under arrest for driving under the influence. After giving her a final opportunity to perform field sobriety exercises, Patrolman Bowden placed her under arrest for driving under the influence. Alexandra was uncooperative and resisted arrest, and displayed a sense of denial over being under arrest. After a brief struggle, she was placed inside the patrol car.
Patrolman Bowden transported her to the Holmdel Township Police Department for further processing. At police HQ, Patrolman Bowden read her the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators, but she refused to submit breath samples for testing. After the officers were finished processing her, she was released to her mother pending her court appearance after she signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf. 
Patrolman Bowden issued her the following traffic tickets: Operating under the influence, refusal to submit to breath testing, consent to take samples of breath, speeding in excess of 15-19 MPH, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to drive within a single lane, operating after driver’s license/registration suspended, obstruction of vision, following too closely, failure to possess registration, failure to yield right of way to emergency vehicles, and failure to stop and yield to emergency vehicles
She was also cited for the following criminal charges: Obstructing administration of law or other governmental function (2C:29-1A) and resisting arrest (2C:29-2A(1)).

Drunk Driver Crashes into Dentist Office Before DUI Arrest

Around 6:43 AM on January 21, 2024, officers with the Clearwater Police Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at 2045 Gulf to Bay Boulevard. As the officers arrived on scene, they observed that a 2010 Hyundai Sonata had penetrated in a southwesterly pathway through the office of Greenberg Dental and also damaged the seating area of Skyline Chili after going through a wall. The building sustained extensive damages estimated to be over $200,000. 
The driver, identified as 22-year-old Danya Trejo, was escorted over to an ambulance rig operated by Sunstar Paramedics and evaluated by first responders. After she was evaluated, she declined further medical attention and indicated that she did not wish to go to the hospital. After she declined medical attention, Officer Alex Krolick informed her that he was changing over to a DUI investigation and read her Miranda rights. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Danya was asked to perform field sobriety exercises. 
Danya had admitted to first responders that she had consumed alcohol in the hours prior, and she also admitted to Officer Krolick that she had consumed alcohol before operating a motor vehicle. Officer Krolick started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, where he observed the lack of smooth pursuit and HGN at maximum deviation in both eyes. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test, and Danya did not touch heel-to-toe on each step and turned improperly. The third exercise was the One Leg Stand test, and Danya did not count in the correct sequence while displaying a lack of balance. The fourth exercise was the Finger to Nose Test. The final exercise was the Modified Romberg Balance Test, and Danya estimated the passage of 30 seconds in 18 seconds. 
Based on Danya’s motor vehicle accident involving severe property damage, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to satisfactorily perform the field sobriety exercises, Officer Krolick placed Danya under the arrest for driving under the influence. After she was placed under arrest, she was first transported to the Clearwater Police Department. At the facility, she agreed to submit breath samples. Danya ultimately submitted 2 breath samples, which revealed a BAC level of 0.061% and 0.060%, respectively. While this was under the legal limit of 0.08%, Officer Krolick informed Danya that he had reason to believe that she was still above the legal limit of 0.08% about an hour earlier, so she was going to be charged with a DUI. However, he license would not be suspended at the time.
Danya was charged with DUI-property damage (316.193(3)(C)1) and Careless Driving (316.1925) and subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail for further processing. On January 22, 2024, a hearing was held in which it was determined that Danya would be outfitted with a Cam monitor prior to release from the PCJ. On April 23, 2024, it was determined that the Cam monitor could be removed and it was no longer a condition of pre-trial release. Court records indicate that as of 5/2/2024, Danya’s case is still pending in Pinellas County.

‘Lunatic’ Driver Arrested for DWI at Over DOUBLE the Legal Limit (0.19%)

Around 11:32 PM on August 9, 2023, Sergeant William Barcas with the Lower Township Police Department observed the driver of a 2015 Jeep Renegade speeding excessively at 68 MPH in a 40 MPH zone on Townbank Road. The Jeep also struck the curb while being driven in an erratic manner. Sergeant Barcas initiated a traffic stop in the vicinity of the Seashore Road Bridge. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Ava, and Sergeant Barcas told her that she was driving like a “lunatic.” 
Ava admitted to consuming alcohol before operating a motor vehicle. Sergeant Barcas returned to his patrol car to check her documents. Patrolman Louis Bartleson arrived on scene around 11:36 PM to assist. Based on the officers’ suspicion of impairment, Ava was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises. 
The first exercise was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Ava failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step and turned improperly. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test, and Ava failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and displayed a lack of balance. 
Based on her erratic driving, the odor of alcohol, her admission to consuming alcohol before driving, and her inability to adequately complete the field sobriety exercises, Patrolman Bartleson placed Ava under arrest for driving under the influence. Her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law. She was transported to the Lower Township Police Department for further processing. 
At the Lower Township Police Department, Ava was read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and agreed to submit breath samples for testing. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC of 0.19%, which was more than double the legal limit of 0.08%. After the officers were finished with their paperwork, Ava eventually released to her feather after he they signed the Potential Liability Warning Form on Ava’s behalf. She was issued the following summonses: Operating under the influence, reckless driving, speeding, and failure to maintain lane
Court records indicate that on October 3, 2023, Ava was found guilty of operating under the influence. As a result of being found guilty, Ava’s license was revoked for 4 months, and she had to use an ignition interlock device for 9 months, spend 12 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center, and pay a total of $690 in fines. The other 3 citations were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Drunk Mom Crashes Car with 1-Year-Old Daughter at Over DOUBLE the Legal Limit

On June 13, 2024 at approximately 7:53 PM, officers with the Pullman Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash involving a 2004 Toyota in the vicinity of SW Crestview Street and SW Alvar Street. Officer Luv St. Andre arrived on scene to assist Officers Germer and Gordon around 8:14 PM. He made contact with the driver, who was identified as 25-year-old Isabella. 
Isabella told Officer St. Andre that she had left her sister’s house nearby with her 1-year-old daughter to go and get food before she crashed into a house. As he was speaking with Isabella, Officer St. Andre detected the odor of alcohol, and she readily admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that day. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Officer St. Andre led Isabella the sidewalk and offered her an opportunity to perform field sobriety exercises. 
The first field sobriety exercise was the horizontal gaze nystagmus (HGN) test. During the HGN test, Officer St. Andre observed lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. He also observed vertical nystagmus. The second field sobriety test was the Walk and Turn test. This was attempted multiple times since she was unable to follow instructions. During one of her attempts Walk and Turn test, Isabella failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step and used her arms for balance. The final field sobriety exercise was the One Leg Stand test. During the One Leg Stand test, Isabella failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and put her foot down before the test was complete. 
After the field sobriety exercises were complete, Officer St. Andre asked Isabella if she would be willing to take a preliminary breath test (PBT). Isabella agreed submit to a PBT and the results indicated a BAC level of 0.253%, which was more than triple the legal limit of 0.08%. Based on the motor vehicle accident, the odor of alcohol, her admission to consuming alcohol, her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, and the results of the PBT, Officer St. Andre placed Isabella under arrest for driving under the influence. Isabella was placed in the patrol car and transported to the Pullman Police Department for further processing. 
Once they were at police HQ, Officer St. Andre read Isabella her Miranda rights as well as the Implied Consent Warning, and she agreed to submit breath samples for testing. After the breathalyzer was administered, her Alcotest results indicated a BAC of 0.184% (lowest IR result), which was still more than double the legal limit. After Officer St. Andre was finished with administering the breathalyzer, he placed Isabella in a cell.

Bartender (27) Arrested for Assault After Catfight With her Roommate

Around 7:23 PM on February 13, 2024, Officer Ryan Szaniszlo with the Ventnor City Police Department responded to a call of a domestic dispute at a residential address. The caller had told dispatch that the other woman she lived with entered her locked bedroom and initiated a physical altercation. As Officer Szaniszlo arrived at the residence, he observed a 27-year-old woman having a physical altercation with her 56-year-old roommate, while a 44-year-old male was attempting to deescalate the situation. The women were identified as 27-year-old Kelsey and 56-year-old Susan. 
They told the officer that all 3 residents inside the house were roommates. He observed physical injuries on both Kelsey and Susan. As Officer Szaniszlo was conducting his investigation, other officers arrived on scene to assist. First responders with the Ventnor City Fire Department arrived to evaluate both women, and they both declined further medical attention. As the officers continued interviewing all 3 residents during the course of their investigation, they determined that Kelsey was the primary aggressor. However, both women had to be arrested because they lived together and this would be considered a domestic violence situation.  
Officer Michael Whalen placed Kelsey under arrested and transported her to the Ventnor City Police Department for further processing. He initially placed Kelsey in a cell as they processed Susan. Kelsey was then finger printed and photographed. Neither woman wished to pursue a temporary restraining order against the other. After they finished processing both arrestees, they were both charged with simple assault and released pending their court appearances.

21-Year-Old With Broken Fingernail Arrested for DWI After Crashing Into Uber Driver

Around 1:11 AM PM on June 10, 2023, Officer Mark Santiago with the North Wildwood Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at the Wawa on 330 W Spruce Avenue. He first made contact with the Uber driver whose car was allegedly struck by a 21-year-old woman driving a 2014 Subaru Legacy. The Uber driver informed Officer Santiago that the driver of the Subaru Legacy allegedly grazed his door with her passenger side mirror, and he observed damages to the other driver’s mirror consistent with this description. 
He also told Officer Santiago that the other driver became physically aggressive towards him after the motor vehicle accident, and that would later be confirmed by reviewing a cell phone video that was filmed by a witness. The driver of the Subaru was identified as 21-year-old Alyssa, and she also mentioned that she had a broken fingernail. Alyssa said that she was coming from Exit 6, a bar in North Wildwood, and she also admitted to being under the influence of alcohol. The other officers continued to interview the Uber driver, and Officer Santiago began his DWI investigation. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Officer Santiago asked Alyssa to perform field sobriety exercises. 
Alyssa was first asked to recite the alphabet from “C” to “Y,” but she did not recite it in the correct sequence. She was then asked to count backwards from 50 to 38, and she was able to do so satisfactorily. The finger dexterity test was not performed because of the apparent injury to her fingernail. The third exercise was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During the HGN test, Officer Santiago observed the lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. He also observed vertical gaze nystagmus in both eyes. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Alyssa failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step and did not keep her arms at her sides. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test. During the One Leg Stand test, Alyssa failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and failed to count in the correct sequence. 
Based on the motor vehicle accident, the odor of alcohol on her person, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to adequately complete the field sobriety exercises, Officer Santiago placed Alyssa under arrest for driving under the influence. A search of her vehicle revealed the presence of an open container. Her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law. She was transported by Officer Santiago to the North Wildwood Police Department for further processing.

Entitled and Obnoxious Woman Arrested for DUI After Destroying 2 Mailboxes

Around 4:00 PM on January 7, 2024, Trooper Jason Slaughter with the Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving 2 destroyed mailboxes on West Shore Drive in the vicinity of Soundside Boulevard. As he arrived on scene, he made contact with Deputy Curt Black of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Black informed him that the driver of the Mercedes that had struck the mailboxes was not being cooperative. He then made contact with the driver of the Mercedes, and she was identified as Christine.  
Christine was asked to exit the vehicle multiple times, but she had to physically removed from the vehicle. After exiting the vehicle, she insisted on speaking with her husband and refused to answer questions. When the Trooper asked her if she had been drinking, Christine denied consuming alcohol. Based on their indicators of impairment, Christine was asked to perform field sobriety exercises and she refused to do so. 
Based on the motor vehicle accident, the odor of alcohol, and her unwillingness to perform field sobriety exercises, Christine was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Christine also refused to submit samples of her breath or blood for testing. A search of her vehicle incident to arrest revealed the presence of a mug that smelled like wine.
Christine was later transported Santa Rosa County Jail and booked in at 5:10 PM. Christine was charged with DUI damage to property or person (316.193.3c1) and resisting an officer without violence (843.02). The following day, Christine was released at 5:00 AM with a total bond of $1,000 pending her court appearance.
