Lisa Mia started writing poetry following the tragic death of her father at the tender age of eight. To cope with a life of sexual and physical abuse she subsequently expanded her artistry by songwriting and journaling.
By the age of twelve two of her poems were published. With her abusive stepfather infuriated by an invitation to attend the celebration for her achievement, he destroyed all her existing work and forbade her to write. Control was accomplished by locking her in a room without writing implements, food or water.
Hardly discouraged, Lisa utilized the restrictions as a motivation to expand the power of her mind and subsequently composed and stored all her poetry in her mind.
Her testimony to law enforcement sent the monster to prison. Unencumbered and attending high school, Lisa began writing her memoir. She shared the work in progress with her classmates; they clamored for more. She had her first group of avid readers.
In 2009, two excerpts of her unpublished memoir were winners of the 78th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition for Memoirs/Personal Essays. This followed the "Juliet Lives" manuscript being featured at Florida’s 42nd Annual Reading Conference by host, and Edgar Allan Poe Award winning author Alane Ferguson, in 2014.
Nearly a decade later, Lisa completed her work and jumped into TikTok inspiring other suffers of trauma and connecting them to her survival story.
Lisa’s genuine empathy and advocacy for those in pain gained her a considerable following, all the while documenting her interactions with those that reached out to her. A little over a month later she went viral gaining thousands of followers plus hundreds requesting her words to heal their heavy, aching hearts.
She composes original, tailored poems and affirmations to her wounded, yet resilient community.
"Juliet Lives", is thus a novelization of her experiences and the first book of a trilogy.
In addition, Lisa Mia is an advocate and life coach for sex trafficking survivors, men who have suffered from physical and sexual trauma, as well as sufferers of various life altering events.
She is currently enrolled at The University of California, Berkeley.

Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evil: The Many Faces of a Mafia KillerBy Jonathon DyerGoodfellow, capo, killer, thief. A man so diabolically evil that he ordered his eldest son to murder his closest associate, and his youngest son to murder his best friend.
When Greg Scarpa was in his early twenties he became a goodfellow in the Profaci family by swearing a blood oath to the Mafia, at the time the country’s largest organized-crime syndicate. And for 25 years he betrayed that oath and the men closest to him by acting as a paid informant for the FBI. He fed America’s premier law enforcement agency a steady stream of self-serving information accusing the men who trusted him with their lives of every crime he was himself committing. During those 25 years of treachery, Scarpa was a one-man crime wave who spent only 30 days behind bars thanks to his status as the FBI’s ultimate Mafia insider. His standing as a prized informant freed him to engage in mayhem and murder knowing he had a virtual license to kill with reckless abandon.
Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evilis a deep dive that provides fresh insight into Scarpa’s malignant personality. Dyer peels back the layers of myth and misdirection to paint as complete and accurate a picture as possible of a man who murdered his enemies and betrayed his friends, of a bigamist who loved only money, of a feared and reviled man whose destructive appetites knew no bounds.https://www.amazon.com/Greg-Scarpa-Legendary-Evil-Killer/dp/1964730678/
A classic episode featuring best selling true crime author Alan R. Warren
LAST MAN STANDINGA "riveting account of guilt versus innocence" from the bestselling author and host of the true crime radio show House of Mystery (Aphrodite Jones, New York Times bestselling author).
It was a shattering death bed confession by a heartbroken mother. But would it solve the oldest cold case murder case in American jurisprudence?
In January 1994, Eileen Tessier told Jack McCullough's half-sister Janet Tessier that he, her son, kidnapped 7-year-old Maria Ridulph from their neighborhood in Sycamore, Illinois, and killed her in December 1957. It was a case that tore the child's family apart, as well as dividing and terrifying the town as the days, then the months, and finally the years passed with no arrest.
In 2008 the Illinois State police reopened the case against Jack after receiving an email from Janet Tessier about their mother's deathbed confession. After the Illinois State police interviewed Janet and learned that Jack had also been accused of raping their other sister, Jeanne Tessier, they reopened the case. But would reopening the case solve the question of who killed Maria Ridulph? And was McCullough the killer?
In The Last Man Standing, true crime author Alan Warren writes in exacting detail about the kidnapping, murder and subsequent investigations—both in 1957 and 2008—that eventually led to the murder conviction of Jack McCullough. But the story doesn't stop there as it delves into the years McCullough spent in prison and the efforts to have his conviction overturned.
Was McCullough the brutal killer of a little girl? Or was he the last man standing when the justice system decided he needed to pay for the crime? You decide.
A healthy twelve-year-old dies inside his principal’s remote cabin. The school board allows that principal to return to the classroom.
This was the reality faced by Jeremy Bell’s family and friends. From the beginning, they questioned the claim that Jeremy had simply died of a heart attack. Their search for answers met resistance, delay, and silence.
Years later, a new sheriff and a new team of investigators reopened the case. They discovered that nearly a gallon of chloroform had been shipped to Edgar Friedrichs Jr., Jeremy’s elementary school principal, and paid for from his personal bank account. Investigators also recovered a vial of Jeremy’s blood and the bloodstained, vomit-soaked sheets from the cabin. But the evidence had remained unrefrigerated for fifty-two months. Could it still reveal what happened that night?
Reporter Susan E. Williams covered the case from the day Jeremy’s death first made headlines. In this disturbing account, she examines the unanswered questions, institutional failures, and evidence that may have waited too long to tell its story.
