Today I’m with the inspiring Amy Liz Harrison. She is the author of Eternally Expecting: A Mom of Eight Gets Sober and Gives Birth to a New Life...Her Own and I couldn’t be more honored to have her by my side as we discuss her journey to sobriety, the mommy wine culture, and much more!
Amy Liz Harrison is one of recovery’s original new voices. She’s a mother of eight who has been sober since 2011. Harrison grew up in the Evangelical Christianity Movement of the 1980s, became a teacher, married an airline executive after knowing him for five months, and transitioned to a stay-at-home mom. She turned to alcohol to deal with the horrible guilt that mothering alone wasn’t enough to fill her deep loneliness.
Listen in as we talk about
1. Liz shares her journey going from being the “Fyre Festival” of motherhood to becoming a sober mom of 8.
2. The dangers of mommy wine culture and using it to de-stress from the trials and tribulations of parenting.
3. Having an intentional mindset and bringing it back to how Christ sees us.
