A couple weeks off but the team is (mostly) back! What we lack in Alvin-ness this week, we make up for in John-ness; as we're joined by long-time friend of the show and frequent patron of Disneyland. The gang does our best to muster up our version of an Air Max Day episode, and oh boy could we use some more muster. We run through news of a massive sneaker retailer shuttering brick-and-mortars, give our take on the GFOAT, and have a convo about whether Air Max Day still matters in 2023.

Sean Collard couldn't make it this week, so we called up a different 6-foot-something white dude to replace him in the form of DP - CEO and co-founder of Kicks Deals and SoleSavy.
On this week's episode we run through several different Air Max-related discussions as we ring in Air Max Month 2023. There's no crazy news stories to cover, so we're able to jump right into things with DP. He gives his best go at 21 Guestions before telling the backstory of how he got into the business of sneakers. After that, he reveals what actually happened with the Air Jordan 1 Royal "Legendary Stock" fiasco, and gives a glimpse at what's next for the brand.

We weren't lying when we said we had a big guest coming - we just lied about when he'd be coming. After several reschedules, we finally have our boy Kai joining us! Kai is a collector of many things, but his main vice is Toronto Raptors memorabilia and jerseys. We talk to our boy about where his hobby started, what keeps him going, and we get ask the tough hitting questions about his relationship with Drake.

We're back and we've got a long one for y'all! It's been a minute, but we are joined by good friend of the show and current trademark holder - Sole Purpose aka Phil Dos Santos. Phil joins us as we talk thru some upcoming releases - some of which are better received than others. After that we dive into some MLB x sneaker news before running back our newest segment OVER/UNDER. Finally we discuss the elephant (or Ape) in the room, and talk about Nike's current lawsuits against Lululemon and BAPE.

We're baaaaaaack! After a nice relaxing holiday break, we're back and ready to start the new year off with a bang! But first and most importantly, Joel got himself a shiny new microphone and the echo has returned - so all is right in the world. After the excitement of that wears off, the boys get down to business with our regular run of show, with a brand new segment sprinkled in to start the new year! Of course, since it's our first episode back from the holidays, we get to select the winners for our CGSto2023 raffle giveaway! With another outstanding turnout once again, we want to thank everyone one last time for the continued support - in December and beyond!

This is one of our last episodes of the year so we had to hit y'all with our annual "Top 5 Pickups of the Year" lists. Before we get into that, we make an exception to two rules and answer two Fire Round questions and Lawrence lets someone else do the honours in the CGS Picks. We also get into the spirit with a fütbol-inspired convo during NSR. To close it out, we all break down and discuss our top 5 favourite pickups of the year - with lots of variety and some tough choices being made.

After a lil hiatus due to life occurring, the gang has returned; and we are sans guest for the first time in a while! Everyone has a handful of pick-ups to cover, and we're all in the thick of some pretty hefty Christmas shopping. This week the boys discuss how our mindset has changed from wanting all the shoes, to being more selective, and downsizing to a more manageable number. Maybe we're getting old?

Nice Kicks is paying for this episode, they just don't know it yet. This week on the podcast we're joined by another superstar guest; the Editor and Chief at Nice Kicks - Luis Torres. OVO Luis joins us from sunny Phoenix, Arizona and chats with us about some recent Kyrie x Nike drama, talks us through some recent pickups, and helps lead a very brief debate on Her Loss. After the fluff, we get right down to it with Luis as he runs through 21 Guestions, gives us his sneaker background story, and pulls back the curtain on the biggest sneaker news website in the world. What goes into being first when breaking the latest news, how he balances speed with accuracy, and he tells us when we can expect the cheque from Nice Kicks.

Three weeks in a row with a guest; and we've had an all star line-up these last few episodes! This week we're joined by the ever-humble Mae; who has one of the most diverse and full collections out there! Mae joins us as we chat about the recent Kanye and adidas split; are we surprised, will they release non-Yeezy Yeezys, and more importantly - should they? After that, Mae tries her shot at 21 Guestions before filling us in on her sneakerhead journey, how she prioritizes new vs. old releases, and where her passion for photography stems from.

Back to back weeks, and back to back guests - legendary guests, at that. This week we are joined by friend of the show and one of the people who really helped catapult Canada Got Sole to what it is now - Curtis Diggins. Curtis was at the helm of Nike Sportswear in Toronto (and Chicago and Dallas) when the Air Max line was making its resurgence back into the limelight. We chat with our boy about some of his proudest moments working at the brand, get him to spill the beans on some fun stories, and hear a behind the scenes look at what goes into marketing and events for the sneaker worlds premiere brand.
