South African artists are complaining that they are not getting enough airplay which makes them receive very little money (royalties) from SAMRO. A recent example of this is legendary jazz musician Bra Don Laka, who took to social media to express his grievances over the payment method that SAMRO uses for South African artists. One artist who has sustained himself in the tough music industry is The King of Kwaito, Arthur Mafokate. #truAfternoon spoke to him regarding this issue and to find out how he has sustained himself for such a long time.

As we are nearing closer to local government elections we are seeing a lot of public protests and others burning houses of ward councillors, schools and libraries. We spoke to Colonel Vinqi from the SAPS to advise on what the consequences of public violence which is a result of such protests.
