Welcome to the last episode of Season 2, 2021! I can't believe we've been doing this for two whole years! It's been hard and wonderful and scary and life-changing. I don't know if y'all know this, but this year has been a doozie. Hard like 2020, but a different kind of hard. And just like every year of our lives, we have highs and lows; we have high kicks and we have trust falls. In this episode, we are going to talk through some of this year's trust falls in our lives and in society as a whole. Will we talk about some things that aren't really popular to discuss? Probably. We have another AMAZING missionary story to share with you as we continue in our Missions series. It is completely Jesus that we were able to have BJ and Jill Sanders on the podcast. The Sanders are missionaries in a remote village in Papua New Guinea, and they only come back to the states every three years give or take. So we were extremely fortunate to be recording this series while they just happen to be on furlough right here in Northwest Arkansas. My sister and brother-in-law have actually known the Sanders for several years, but this was the first time I've really gotten to connect with them and hear their story.

We are back with episode number two in our Missions series. I'm digging this series because we're getting to hear from missionaries who are both on and off the field, doing all the trust falls daily and often in a different language! Last episode we heard from Laura, a former missionary in Slovakia, who made the difficult yet necessary choice to come back to the states. And now I get to introduce you to Rebekah. It's sometimes said that "if you won't go to the nations, God will bring them to you." Well that, folks, is what is happening all over the world, especially in Europe as millions of refugees have flooded in seeking a better life. And this is where Rebekah and her organization come in. Listen in as she tells us about all the aspects of her missionary life in Germany.

I am pumped to kick off our Missions Series with my friend Laura Troutman. Laura and I served together overseas with the same organization, though while I was in Ukraine she was in Slovakia. Laura is also a fellow single, southern gal from South Carolina. We bonded right away over giggling, not-paying attention at orientation, Grey's Anatomy, and of course high kicks. Laura's story is one of obedience in both becoming a missionary and also coming back to the States. This is her story of living that missionary life then coming back home and serving locally.
